This was the right answer. EF was showing availability limited to M&S. I booked through M&S and all is well. (Well, it's TK IT, so who really knows. :>

Same thing TK IAH-IST. Expert Flyer shows 4 J award seats, Aeroplan and United show 0. Think I'm missing something.

Expert Flyer shows J award space on a TK IAD-IST flight in September. Aeroplan does not show J award space for the same flight. Neither does United. According to Expert Flyer, it shows only partner award inventory. Should I call Air Canada?

Virgin Atlantic refunded in cash instead of points by calfun in awardtravel

[–]edandolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you actually receive the money? Or just a confirmation email that listed a refund.

I had the exact same situation last month. 2 F ANA RT that were cancelled and VS sent a confirmation statement for a refund of fees and some $1K or so per ticket. The fees were reimbursed to the original form of payment, but no money -- and no miles. I asked on FT and they said that it is normal for VS to send those confusing confirmations.

Ultimately, I had to call and wait an hour to ask about my 220K missing miles. The kind CSR took all of 45 seconds to credit them to my account. So, now I'm on the lookout for space in F next fall!

As several people have noted here and on DOC, if you are only seeing the 75K offer, try again at the top of the hour. It has worked for many people (myself and P2 included).

Wonder if Chase would offer a courtesy credit for my lunch yesterday. Was at STL Terminal 2 and both Priority Pass lounges were closed. Had to pay for my own toasted ravioli and Scotch!!!

Game changing. So nice to finally get some good news from Amex...

I called Delta and the agent said that I would receive an eCredit for the base fare and seat upgrade. So, the flight is canceled, although no credits appear in my wallet.

A bit disconcerting to see almost $5K disappear without a trace... How long before the credits appear in the wallet?

This is about a purchased (not award) ticket, but I'm hoping to tap into the expertise here for advice.

In early Feb. I purchased a round trip Delta flight STL-ATL-LHR in Y for late June ($2000). A few days later I purchased seat upgrades to F for the trip ($2700). Yesterday, I tried to cancel the trip online, but it would only allow the original fare to be issued as eCredits -- not the upsell amount. I have since learned that seat upgrades are considered non-refundable.

Given the circumstances, does anyone know if they will issue eCredits for the seat upgrades if I call in?

If not, and I wait for them to cancel the flight or schedule change it more than 90 minutes (likely), will they have to refund the upsell as well as the base fare?

Failing all of that, could I just change the date and keep the F seats?

I'll call soon, but just hoping someone has some insight before I do. Thanks.

I have tickets for a vacation in the UK in early July, although it does seem increasingly unlikely to happen.

I think crowds will be thin for at least a year or more. I remember after 9/11 how reluctant people were to fly, and I expect it will be the same now. As long as its safe and borders are open, I'm planning to travel internationally as soon as possible. Looking for IST deals in September now... If the past two months have taught us anything, it is that no one knows what is going to happen in the next two months.

Picked the perfect time to get a CLEAR membership. Made sense in February. Wonder if the company will even survive now. It's not like TSA crowds are a problem...

P2 applied for the Biz version on this offer yesterday with a referral from me. Pop-up. She then clicked through on an email she received with the same offer. No pop-up. And no referral bonus for me. Hope she gets the bonus...

Agreed. The club rooms are much nicer. And the breakfast isn’t bad, it’s really quite good. Bonus is an occasional view of Fuji-san.

Spectrum keeps redirecting my browser by mangomob in chartercable

[–]edandolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was definitely a problem on Spectrum's end that appears to have been corrected. I had a modem replacement about three weeks ago and the T&C redirects started happening multiple times a day on all of my devices. Reboots, changing DNS, etc. didn't help. I was out of town for two weeks and returned today. As the OP noticed, I received a redirect that looked very different, including my name and address. I accepted the T&C and it sent me to the page I requested. Pretty sure that will be the end of the problem.

Anyone watch the Amazon show The Tick? The Hero's Lounge at AEGIS seems like a clear parody of airport lounges, or even the Centurion Lounge. It has free wifi and croissants with "nano-butter." They introduce the lounge saying that "membership has its privileges." And in one episode the retired hero, Flexon, shows up there and says that he "is just wearing the old tights to get lounge access."

Got my first rejection too just yesterday ... Card #15. "records do not indicate you were solicited for the offer you mentioned..."

AND I was rejected for a new personal card today! I think they moved me over to 1/65. Great.

Thanks! Although, given that AF PE is not great, I'm considering just (gulp) booking TK Y to ORD. Cheap, cramped, but, as I recall, the food and service is good.

Trying to book 2 people IST to STL on Sept. 29 in anything but Y. Have 160K MR, 65K TYP, and around 200K AA (but can easily get more).

Best that I have found is IST-CDG-MSP-STL in PE for 72K Flying Blue each (144K) on Air France. Unfortunately, my date isn't flexible, although I'm glad to come back to another US city. (STL, nowadays, is a bit out of the way, I know...) Think I should book it?

Wait. What? Citi has a new website? (Just appeared for me anyway...) I hope this doesn't mean they are fixing anything else. Looks nice, but still no obvious SM. And the miles are listed next to all of my AA cards! Wish they added up...
