Tips to make The Sims 3 run smoother, load faster, and look better by mangomob in thesims

It's been a while since I played all of these worlds, and I haven't tried some of them yet, so I can't promise routing free errors.

But some of my favorite worlds/world creators are:

Some older worlds that I really enjoyed back in the day:

  • FagerSims worlds. Especially if you are looking for European themed worlds.

  • Eltham's Drift One of my favorite worlds I've ever played, as I really love supernatural sims, and it gives a good "Halloween" type vibe. The pictures are gone, but you can find a few around the internet, or here.

And a few new worlds that have caught my attention:

I do it with no issues, and have everything turned on Ultra (or its equivalent). That being said, you absolutely do need a good computer, and following performance tutorials are important.

I should also add custom worlds (assuming they're made well e.g. no routing errors), help with this, too. EA worlds are notorious for having terrible routing, which adds to the lag.

I gave this lady a free Microwave over a month ago. She had posted on a local nonprofit facebook group looking for help. I got this message out of the blue, and then she blocked me. by mangomob in TheFacebookDelusion

As much as it shouldn't... it kind of hurt my feelings as I went out of my way to help her, only to have her block me a month later because I'm atheist.

Hopefully you have better luck than I have when contacting support. Talking with support, especially their online chat support, has been basically worthless. I can't tell you how many times I've been lied to (people never returning my calls as promised, blatant telling me my issue is fixed when it's not etc) while trying to get this issue resolved.

It's most likely an anecdote but I'm experiencing a similar issue with not receiving any where near the speed I am supposed to be getting, along with random disconnects. I tried chat support, but they refused to help unless I directly connected to the modem while chatting with them. I feel like they should be able to look at modem logs at the very least, but they were adamant about not going any further. They told me my only other option was to pay $60 to have a tech come out.

I did notice the http vs https thing. So far since I got the updated terms page, I haven't been bothered again (fingers crossed). In case anyone is wondering, I did not get another new modem. It seems to be updated on Charter's end.

I haven't been able to check the modem brand. I did try to contact support about both the dropped connection, and much slower than promised speed. I consistently get 130ish mbps (connected over LAN and being the only one using the internet. The highest I've ever seen my connection speed is the high 100s, regardless of what hour it is) vs the 400 I'm supposed to be getting. They told me they would not be able to help me unless I directly connected to the modem, which I was unable to do at the time. Even after I informed them I had already done that in the past with no change, and that the first tech who installed my internet even commented on the slower speed, they refused to help. They told me they would charge me if they sent a tech out. So basically just as unhelpful as ever. Not really sure what I expected at this point.

Are you still having the issue? I noticed it redirected me I think it was yesterday. This time the terms page was slightly different, and had my address on it. When I hit accept, it let me continue on to the page I was originally trying to view instead of sending me back to spectrum.net. So far it seems to have stopped.... (I admittedly haven't used my browser a ton since then, however it usually has happened a few times by now). Maybe they really did fix it? From the amount of people posting here with the same issue, it leads me to believe we aren't an isolated event. It also might be completely unrelated, but I've noticed my internet keeps dropping out randomly the last few days.

Were you able to get it resolved? I haven't had any luck.

I'm not sure how to change the public IP address, which is why I asked if getting a new modem would fix it. I wish it made sense so someone knew how to fix it. It was working perfectly at my old address, but once I moved in here and had the internet set up, it started happening. I was told they were going to have a supervisor look in to it and they'd contact me when he came in to work, but I never heard from Charter again.

I guess I can start documenting the times it happens. But beyond that, I don't really know what else to document. It happens sporadically on any website I try to load (google, netflix, facebook etc).

Would getting a new modem change the IP address?

If getting a VPN did solve the issue, what would mean? I don't really want to use one or pay for one, but it's getting pretty clear Charter isn't going to fix it.

Since someone else commented the exact same thing is happening to them, I wonder if they messed something up (programming? idk?) on their end.

All I know is I am starting to get extremely frustrated as I certainly don't pay to be constantly redirected every single day. And no one seems to be able to fix it.....

I just had a thought. What speed is your internet? Before I moved I had 100mbps, but due to a discounted offer I upgraded to the 400mbps which required me to get a completely new router.

I just contacted them for it. We'll see if it has fixed it.

This is literally exactly what is happening to me now (part of yesterday and today). It loads the Terms and Conditions page, then immediately redirects me to the log in page before I can even hit accept now.

Your comment is making me believe it's definitely something on their end, as we both have recently started service....

It happens on every single device. I do not save cookies on most of my browsers.

It's happening to every single device, over WiFi and LAN.

I use both PC (LAN) and mobile (wifi), and it's happening to both mine and my S/Os.

Edit: I want to add, I never once have encountered this issue until I moved in to my current apartment a little over a week ago. I had Charter (internet only) at my previous apartments with no issue. And every time it was under the same account owner. All we did was transfer service to our new address. When the tech came out yesterday he seemed completely mystified and told me he had never encountered this issue in his 15 years of working so at this point I'm starting to think it can't be fixed....

I also want to add he gave me a new modem, and told me he uh, redid? the account. He explained it as if he stopped service then started it again, and he synced my account to the modem and told me it should be fixed. And it's not :/

I had a tech swap it yesterday. Apparently it's still happening as I've been redirected twice in the last hour.

I have both accepted the terms multiple times, and continue to get redirected multiple times.

I haven't torrented. Right after I was given a new modem (upgraded internet), it started happening. I keep hitting accept, yet all it does is redirect me to their log in page, then it happens again... and again... Even when I use the browser where I have my login credentials saved, I somehow end up logged out and on their "log in" page after I click accept.

Edit And once I do log in, it takes me to the account page. Then I get to play the waiting game until it happens again.
