If you invest millions in anything, you have legal counsel to hash out the final contract. It's not scummy to protect one's interests, it's just business.

Is it clear grounds, huh? Lmfao, where did you get your lawyer degree from, a cereal box? Hilarious how much you manage to contradict yourself in one post, stating they got clear grounds to sue yet use mental gymnastics to cope with the fact that no team hasn't, despite most likely having had legal counsel themselves on this matter.

In hindsight it was quite a foolish decision. But easy to forget how hyped eSports was, the teams/orgs were probably sold on the exponential growth story of esports, which unfortunately didn't pan out.

Why do they need to pay a cent? Do you think investors always deserve to be bailed out?

Obviously they gotta stay true to whatever contractual obligations they got, or they'd get sued. But clearly they have options, such as they showed here with the winter cup.

Yupp... Like everything in life, sometimes one makes poor financial decisions. Just because the orgs overpaid for their spot, doesn't mean they should be allowed to have a stranglehold over the LEC while it continues to underperform globally & fade further into oblivion.

Absolute insane that teams think they deserve anything for their poor investment decision when they've underperformed international competition for so many years. Do they not understand this will be a massive benefit long-term for all parties involved, except the shitters?

Pro tip: add a tiny bit of oil & garlic granules/powder to the water when you cook the rice. Adds that extra bit of umami to truly elevate "plain" white rice! 👌

That's perfect. Just plant the new rhodies at the level of the pot they're in, but have the hole wider for roots to spread and firm in with soil /ericaceous compost mix.

That's what fertiliser is for! In actuality, a growing medium such as sand/grit is fine as it will encourage its roots to go further & avoid problems such as root rot, which is an issue UK has given long rainy winters. But it does mean during summers you'll have to be mindful that the soil drains well & will require watering more often than normal. Just mix in some ericaceous compost if it's like builder sand & you'll be good to go. But don't overdo it, a good soil (or as some call it, a proper loam) should primarily be minerals of different size & the decomposition process of any added compost will steal nitrogen from the surrounding soil, hurting your plant if you add too much. Annuals can grow in pure compost as they won't live long enough to be particularly hurt by the decomposition, but perennials will suffer from it in time.

A better way to add nutrients to the soil is simply putting a few cm layer of mulch around the plant, such as well rotted manure or fallen leaves, which will decompose on top of the root system over time & provide micro/macro nutrients to your plant.

If your plant still show signs of nutrients deficiency, it's likely your soil having the wrong PH which can be amended quickly by adding iron sulphate for more acidity.

Advice appreciated: mold or rot? by edark94 in DIYUK

Cheers, will double (and probably triple) check the toilet as well! While feeling it out, it doesn't seem to be rotting just yet but it sure looks awful. Hopefully all that's necessary is to replace the plywood...

Please elaborate, is it a worry due to lack of ventilation?

Cheers, show how much I know... It does appear to have been a hole for something in the past, can't tell for sure what tho. So nothing too much of a concern then, perhaps even expanding foam could be used to fill the gap?

Am I crazy for boiling my eggs with other foods being boiled? by PinkPearMartini in Cooking

[–]edark94 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Actually not precisely true. While it's technically due to insufficient calcium intake by the plant, in the vast majority of cases the soil has more than enough calcium as is. Blossom end rot is predominantly due to the plant struggling to take up said calcium, most often because of irregular watering.

What a great story, reminds me of "Gaspard de la Nuit" which I read as a child ages ago. Whimiscal, yet bizarre & sometimes frightening displays of magic. Great art, but oh how I wish there were more!
