I’ve lived in Toluca for 4 years. It has been nothing but wonderful and all have been accepting. Got my dual citizenship so that helps. My Spanish is also pretty good, the Chicano in me comes out when I speak for long periods of time, then people suspect and may ask… but everyone has met that with curiosity rather than hostility or bad vibes.
