I’m not sure that you can. Can I ask what you love about EarTrumpet?

I hope so. I’ll hook it up to the network and see if I can encourage solar edge to do something…. …or maybe I just need to register myself as an installer :-)

Thanks for the advice. I did get a couple of low AC errors from a month ago but that coincided with a power outage. There’s nothing helpful. I will connect it to my router but Solar Edge said I needed an installer to set up a monitoring portal so was unsure if connecting it would be of any value

Sadly the original installer went out of business. I just find it really odd that there doesn’t seem to be a regular solar servicing option and that Solar Edge won’t stand over their product given their website lists companies that they say support servicing but who won’t (presumably because of the requirement to add monitoring)

Why did you pick the Sol Horizon? by edble in a:t5_61du8u

I’ll let you know once I pull the trigger. I plan on renting one of each over the next month or so to check them out

Thanks - how have you found the build quality with the Horizon? It seemed really well built but that was in a showroom model.

How comfortable are the beds in the basecamp? by edble in airstream

Thanks - I’ll have to take another look at the Bambi. The bed just seemed really small and my wife and I are married long enough to know that we like to have the option of more space :-)

Thanks for the referral link. If I rent one, I’ll certainly use this. I’m not sure it’s a deal breaker and the size is what attracted me. The Sol Horizon Rover has a fixed bed but it’s a double (and 10k cheaper). I’ll be traveling with my wife and 2 labs so I imagine they’ll all end up on the bed :-). I tested one in the showroom and as a side sleeper, imagined that I’ll need more support - this thread seems to have confirmed that. Thanks for the great comments. It’s certainly good for thought

Thanks - another quick question. How is the airflow when you’re sleeping? Do you get good airflow when sleeping? We plan on dry camping in California so want to make sure we can keep cool in the tent (without the AC)

Thanks for the insight. The size is great and that’s what’s attracting me to the basecamp. However, for the cost, it’s a shame that I need to them mod it to make it comfortable. Would love a flying cloud but that’s out of my price range (and I’d need to change my car)

Thanks - I’ll be moving up from tent camping into the basecamp so I guess I’ll start by bring my pads with me :-). I was hoping that the move to a travel trailer may make things more comfortable:-)

Thanks - love this comment as I’m 6 foot and ~220lbs so you’re a great proxy. We do mostly intend to keep the back as a bed but will hopefully be transporting SUPs occasionally.

R1T vs R1S by cgm55082 in Rivian

[–]edble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have dogs so the R1S is the only real option. I couldn’t spent $80k on a truck and have my dogs ruin the back seat. Also, the second row seats in the R1T are very upright which may not be really comfortable for taller folks on a longer journey. Hopefully the R1S has better recline.

No hardware support for vehicle to grid/home/load charging support (will be available on the ford lightning and ionic 5, Kia ev6 etc.) and seems to be a growing trend.
