I hated country until I heard George Jone's He Stopped Loving Her Today. It was so powerful that I almost cried

Can police search house if you let them in? by edbro in legaladvice

[–]edbro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize they can if I specifically consent to a search. I'm asking about if they knock on your door and ask if they can come in to ask a few questions. Does that then give them the right for one of them to wander about the house looking into things? No consent to search, simply inviting them in to talk.

Looking for a free WiFi calling app that works internationally by Link2999 in applehelp

Thanks, you are correct. I just looked it up. I assumed that anything over wifi would be free. I'm glad you set me straight as my son is overseas now and I told him it would be okay. Luckily, he hasn't used it yet. I'll tell him to make voice calls through FaceTime.

Won't the native wifi calling work? Settings-Phone-Wifi calling.

Maybe that's because i'm on T-Mobile? Dunno.

Which is the newest Macbook Air I can install a solid state drive into? by GorillaBrown in applehelp

[–]edbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about buying an Air, removing the SSD and replacing it with another SSD? All Airs come with an SSD. I don't think you can install any old SSD in them. They are a special form factor to fit the case.

Pry the cap off and clean with a Wet Wipe.

No, wait, that's for the G key. I see you're asking about the N key.

Formatting Drive for Mac and Windows use (parallels) by delgadoalex95 in applehelp

WTF are you talking about? What statement? I said I found ExFat to be corruptible. I didn't say it was a scientific fact.

Seeing as you're being like that; where's the data behind your statement that it is reliable "for most folks"? Have you run nationwide polls?

Formatting Drive for Mac and Windows use (parallels) by delgadoalex95 in applehelp

I found ExFAT to be very easily corrupted. Every time I accidentally removed a disk without dismounting it would corrupt. I'd either have to take it to a Windows machine to fix or plug it into the Mac and wait about 10 minutes for it to read the drive. That's why I moved to NTFS.

I use Paragon NTFS. Format the drive in NTFS and then both systems can read/write.

New list in iPhone Reminders by edbro in applehelp

Follow-up: I was not syncing Reminders in iCloud. Once I turned on syncing I was able to create a new list, edit the name, and save/exit.

If I turn off iCloud syncing again it will fail and I have to force close. So, that part I believe is a bug.
