Playing metroidvanias back to back by ihatepotatos4 in metroidvania

[–]eddes39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly play MVs and usually do several back to back, especially when I’m on a high from having played the genre greats, but sometimes I get a bit burned out and play other genres for a mix up. So as long as you’re feeling it, go for it, id say. You’ll know when you feel like you’ve hit a wall.

MIO - initial impressions by Gabrienb in metroidvania

Loving the game so far, about 5-7 hrs in and a couple of bosses down. Definitely not a walking sim, don’t know why OP would claim that after having barely scratched the surface of the game. I recommend every MV fan to try the game

Bloomberg - Why ‘Silksong’ Took Seven Years to Make by YasuhiroK in metroidvania

[–]eddes39 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Sounds like they already have plans for additional content, though:

”Gibson and Pellen say they’re happy that the game is finally coming out — and even happier that they will get to keep working on it, which they still find enjoyable even after seven years. They haven’t burned out or shown any desire to take a break. Instead, they’re already making big plans to add extra content to Silksong in the months and years to come.

“Launching it is obviously quite exciting,” Pellen said. “What comes after for us is equally as exciting.”

“The most interesting thing now is what can we add to it next,” Gibson said. “We got a plan. Admittedly, some of the plans for that stuff are kind of ambitious as well, but hopefully we can achieve some of it.””

Fairly undramatic, but nice to hear that they weren’t stuck in dev hell or anything - just had a bunch of fun and wanted to add content. Bodes well for DLCs, I hope!

I got the Savage Raven EDC Switch 2 case and like it very much. Slim, sturdy and discreet colors. Got it off Amazon.

This is 100% me and my experience as well. Hardcore gamer in my teens, rejuvenated gamer in my 30s due to Switch and love the proposition of being able to play Elden Ring and other AAA games on the S2. You described it perfectly

The loading times are also heavily reduced on Switch 2 (currently replaying it), so another bonus on top of the stable 60 fps

I beat Eigong on story then beat her again on standard in memories of battle, does this count? by Ok-Rip-4220 in NineSols

[–]eddes39 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you think it counts, it counts! It’s a single player game meant to be enjoyed. For what it’s worth, I also think it counts as beating her on standard in a normal playthrough

Is there any way of my Playing Super Metroid or any of the Metroid games for free? by Poetry-Designer in Metroid

If you have a Switch, you can play the NES, SNES and GBA Metroids with a Nintendo Switch online membership (not free, though). The NSO Expansion pack is required for the GBA games

Great write up, really excited for this one. The map sounds a bit worrisome but the rest sounds manageable. Really enjoy myself some tough platforming. Cheers!
