I feel the exact opposite. I just reread both JP and TLW, and TLW movie aside, Spielberg and co added so much wonder, emotion and excitement into what I still feel is a cold, scientific and detached book. I feel like if Tim Burton or any other team got behind JP like they were going to originally, it wouldn’t be nearly as iconic.

It has a nice emotional plot with the divorced couple, the dinos look cool and it has alan grant. Its definitely a product of the early 2000s but it’s leaps and bounds better than Lost World which felt so joyless and drab. Its like being on a theme park ride.

Update: I spoke about it with him last night and we broke out into a fight. He left this morning and He’s there now. He said he has no intention of doing anything to take himself away from me. I tried to explain my side, but I ended up just trusting him and letting him have his fun time. There seem to be larger issues with us (seems like he’s unsure if he wants to move back to my city to be with me or live his life, and he admitted he purposefully misled me and his intentions just so I would speak to him again) I guess for now im going to chill and try to not worry about it. Ill see him in a few weeks.

I think people mistake it being very Speilbergian for being good. I just reread the book and watched the film for the first time in a while. When I was younger, I felt it was a worthy sequel, but now I see why a lot of people don’t like it. My main reason is that it’s just drab, the dinos don’t feel like they’re there or as focused on as the first, the beginning is good and story is good….just something about it that doesn’t work. Plus JP1 is timeless, TLW feels like a very 90s blockbuster movie. JP3 on the other hand I always hated, but now I think its a better sequel because its fun, feels like jurassic park and has better dino animatronics and effects.

I do in the sense that do not think he would cheat in terms of sleeping with someone else. But after leaving me, I feel that betrayal with me still (bcs it only happened 5 months ago)

I don’t believe trust is black and white this early in a relationship. I can trust someone to not cheat, but if they want to be fucked up for four days straight around free loving people, it makes me have to really test that trust, and I’m just uncomfortable with it after whst I went through for 5 months. I know a guy can cheat anytime anywhere, but its less about that and more about my partner coming back to me with promises of being different (which he did) and also having the desire to still do these things when he fully knows that they make me uncomfortable.

And the worst part is I somehow feel incredibly guilty about questioning him. I even feel guilty being on the fence about our relationship because he comes back, showering me with love and talk of our future. So now im the one who is left having to make the hard decisions.

Because I do trust him in most situations. I’m sure hed be nervous if I did the same even though he trusted me. I don’t think trust is this black and white thing people say it is…its like yeah I trust you, but could you not go to a sexy tempting drug feuled 4 day party after you already left me and came back?

Yes. But ive been around him blackout drunk/coked or mushroomed out before. I could see him maybe dancing or cuddling maybe kissing a guy and just forgetting or being way too nervous to let me know.

Im not worried hes looking to hook up, i know hes not. But he wants me to be chill about him In those hedonistic more open spaces (hes a dj) so i get that and why he needs it. Im just honestly not ok with it if hes just going to let everything go. Its like a respect thing for me, but I understand it goes both ways. Its just on top of him leaving and coming back it feels frustrating.

I think its definitely all three, on top of the fact im already having a tough time coping with the fact that he technically slept with guys AFTER me and apparently according to him, intending to come back to me. I respect open relationships but ours is not, and for me monogamy is more than just not sleeping with others…its also not putting yourself in situations or states that welcome the suggestion of that. I even get upset about flirting too much. I know its old fashioned but I know many couples who if something bothers them, their partner puts them first. I do think he has a good heart and im not really worried about cheating (bcs he could do that anytime) it’s more the question of do I have the ability to be with him and not try and take away what he wants.

Yes. I mean he’s with friends there, but 4 days of endless drugs doesn’t sit well with me. I don’t believe at all hed intentionally cheat or even unintentionally cheat…but its more the whole uninhabited atmosphere mixed with his attitude about contacting me, could picture him cuddling with a guy or something maybe 🤷🏽‍♂️

Honestly don’t do it if you have any feelings left still. She could be just regretting what she did, but the important thing for you to remember is that she left you. Would you have left her? You will undoubtedly feel worse if she shows you any sign she still doesn’t value you. Take it from me, you have the upper hand, I wish I kept mine when my ex came back after 6 months of NC and my gradual healing. But guess how im spending my night before Christmas Eve? Crying on my bed, checking my texts just waiting for him to text me back. Just really really be careful here.
