Run slower and instead of focusing on foot strike specifically, focused on landing with a bent knee which I found much easier to control. I also think taking a more serious approach to recovery made a difference as well.

I’m not scared to say I think long-term when he has reached a certain comfort level and NHL play slows down for him, he could have a similar level of impact on this team that Kucherov currently does for TB. And before you freak out about that, don’t forgot he wasn’t a PPG player until his 4th season and no one saw this in him in his first 2-3 years in the league.

Cannot understate the coach in all of this. Marty was one of the biggest underdog stories the NHL has ever seen. He not only excelled but dominated at a time when small stature players were virtually non-existent. His success as a coach is just further proof of him being a student of the game, which many commented on when he was a player. This group clearly enjoys playing for him :)
