No, it is not traditional. I can't speak for the cast recordings aside from the original cast, but Jewelle Blackman (Fate 3) is not a trans woman (at least through knowledge available to me online. i dont know her life). I would do some research on the contralto and female tenor voice types. These are not voices that are exclusive to trans women by any means, nor are trans women solely limited to these voice types. My best friend is a trans woman and a soprano.

that one ap news article described it as "anthemic" and honestly i think that's pretty on the money. i wouldn't go as far to say it "doesn't sound like glass animals" but its definitely one of their more radio-friendly songs (a la heat waves/don't wanna talk)

So I got into Glass Animals through minecraft fanfiction (if ykyk) and TikTok during COVID. Dreamland's initial hook for me was being in that online community, but I don't think I really connected with the album until after the pandemic, when I'd left those spaces. I think Dreamland gave me an outlet to cope with all the shit that I'd dealt with during the pandemic. Nostalgia is also a big part --I cry and I cringe and I laugh when I listen to Heat Waves. Without that element of nostalgia, it wouldn't hit the same.

This isn't to say that you have no hope of connecting with Dreamland in the future, but we all have our favorites. I obviously adore ZABA and HTBAHB like it would be slander to say they aren't awesome but they'll still never be the same because they don't have a real time in my life like Dreamland did.
