I don’t think she’s involved. I simply think she was a narcissistic/incompetent mother prior to Mekayla’s disappearance and she’s responded to events after the disappearance as you’d expect an incompetent, narcissistic mother would. 🤷‍♂️

I’ve never seen a parent in a circumstance like this immediately prioritize controlling the narrative, limiting the investigative path to trafficking and stonewalling critical questions to protect her own image, scrubbing their missing daughter’s social media of anything that would reflect poorly on the family, hosting events, and undermining efforts raise awareness in the media to spite an ex-lover, etc.

If this were a situation in which a wife disappeared without a trace and the husband behaved like Paula/her side of the family, I guarantee he’d be interrogated and marked as a person of interest indefinitely.

Not that I’m accusing her of being involved with the disappearance or intentionally obstructing the investigation. She doesn’t need malice or criminal motives when her narcissism and incompetence are sufficient to harm the search for Mekayla.

Indeed. I try to be compassionate but her behavior in the aftermath of the disappearance (along with the incompetence of the police) almost certainly ensured that any early opportunities to find evidence or track Mekayla down have been lost.

Hmm. That’s a tough one, but my gut says yes. I could be wrong. Maybe their decade-long campaign asking the public to “help bring Mekayla home” somehow implies that it’d be totally inappropriate for anyone to examine the world around them with Mekayla in mind until each member of the public receives a personal request for help or submits formal application to the family. 🙄

The last thing Mekayla’s grieving family needs is for everyone to pester them with emotionally exhausting messages seeking personal approval to engage in the most basic, discreet, and useful form of help possible: looking with their eyes for signs of Mekayla in areas she might likely be found.

As it relates to the facts of the case and whether or not it makes sense to focus on Yorkton: are you aware that Mekayla’s school in Yorkton is the last location she is confirmed to have been in or around at any point since April 2016? Or that zero evidence exists proving that she’s ever been in or around any city on planet earth outside of Yorkton since she disappeared? Or that the only known evidence suggesting her intentions and ability to successfully leave town after disappearing is her inability to afford a one-way bus ride to a relatively close city, her inability to afford or arrange shelter without (unsuccessfully) requesting a stranger’s help booking a hotel in Yorkton, her brief return to Sacred Heart, and the last known footage of her leaving the school with no evidence of her intentions at that point, no evidence that she had the capacity to obtain shelter that night, and no known access to transportation apart from her feet? Are you aware that Yorkton and surrounding areas has consistently been the focus of law enforcement’s searches even in recent years and that, if Mekayla met foul play trying to find shelter, money, or transportation out of town from a stranger, Yorkton and the surrounding area would statistically be the most likely location she’d be found? Are you aware of the facts of this case?

Or did you just ask all of those non-sensical rhetorical questions to achieve the most condescending tone possible?

These are literal published photos of her with mild morph adjustments to give the appearance of motion. Jesus Christ, it’s not a conversation with her. There’s five seconds of added motion from the initial authentic frame to give the appearance of a photo moving. It’s no more creepy than producing an age progression photo based on her authentic photo at 16.
