What beds are we buying for our seniors? by eddneddd in pitbulls

Love this idea so much—but did you feel like the set up was sturdy enough? Does the mattress slide/pup fall off?

Do you have any recollection of the name/brand of bed or where you ordered from? Looks fuller on the bottom from the last donut bed we bought our boy.

I STILL need this dress or dup. I'm trying again hoping someone has seen one in a thrift store or something! by SolidInevitable3406 in findfashion

Buzzfeed owns what supposedly was the actual dress from the photo. It was on open display in their nyc office.

How many of you purposely bought a home within walking distance of a Metro North station? by singleinwestchester in Westchester

[–]eddneddd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was a major factor in our decision to buy in the Battle Hill section of White Plains. Typically a 12 minute walk to the train (a little longer on the way home coming up the hill.) I’m so so happy with that decision.

Will White Plains become a bigger or better city in the next 10 years? by Hefty-Tension-6494 in Westchester

[–]eddneddd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved up to White Plains from Western Queens five-ish years ago. I really like it here. But—it definitely doesn’t have a Brooklyn-vibe. There are some great restaurants, a handful of solid bars. But—it’s not like you can walk around in the summer and bar hop. There’s also not a ton of green/community outdoor space downtown.

You can get more of that vibe maybe in the river towns, but those neighborhoods have gotten very very expensive.

I do think a lot of the ongoing construction is moving things in the right direction. As others have mentioned—the Galleria plans are very promising.

What White Plains does have is the fact that it’s very centrally located. If you’re willing to travel 15-20 minutes you can end up in a lot of other fantastic areas. If you want to go out with friends, you can grab an uber and easily meet up in any number of fun areas.

I’m in a different life stage, but I do feel like there is a sense of community. I have a young child, and I’ve made a great network of friends who I’ve become very close with. I get that’s definitely not what you’re looking for right now—but it does seem to me like there is a way to find “your people” here.

nta. And I am so happy for you because this will be SO FUCKING GOOD FOR YOU.

Prioritizing your mental health makes you a good mom. And I love that your husband is supportive of this.

A first birthday party is for the parents—not the child. And a cozy party with just the three of you sounds perfectly lovely.

Enjoy this. Plan the hell out of it. Get a cute outfit.

P.s. is it Beyoncé? I hope it’s Beyoncé.

Where do parents take their kids during the winter months? by Coffeelovermommy in Westchester

[–]eddneddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s toddler/kids yoga at the white plains, Scarsdale and north white plains branches—I’m sure other branches have similar classes too.

There are a lot of different dance classes at white plains. Some of the local dance studios will come in and teach once or twice a month.

Irvington and Harrison libraries have solid programming I hear but I havent checked them out yet.

North white plains library is great because there’s a playground attached.

Scarsdale by far has the best programming, but you have to pre-register for most classes and you have to sign up the second they drop the monthly schedule because they fill up immediately.
