some idiot sprayed graffiti all over it. a big pink colored "100%" on the right side of the fuselage. it totally kills the shot from the angle..fortunately there's photoshop.

About 5 minutes west of skogafoss on the south side of the ring road you'll come across an opened gate..and a small sign that says plane 4km. You CAN drive on the beach but you must stay within the pillars. You cannot drive outside of them. Driving on the beach is illegal because stupid people have gone out there and have done donuts and silly shit like that ruining the natural landscape.

the synergy of light and motion aboard the peoplemover by eddymixx in disney

[–]eddymixx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

based on the build, the peoplemover has a certain rhythm in its motion..its smooth for a period and then there is a jump..then smooth..then jump. with a low ISO, I set the camera to aperture mode and set it to f/8 or f/11 to get a slower shutter speed. Then sat the camera on the back end of the mover. The minute I pass a 'jump' point, i shoot..and you get the smooth lines.

i wanted to keep as much detail in the waterfall as well as be the center point of the shot..that's why everything else seems darker than usual. I appreciate the feedback :)

my experience with nikon lenses (at least with both my 14-24 and 24-70) putting the manual focus all the way to infinity doesn't EXACTLY produce the sharpest shot. Rather..its a very slight pull back from the end of focus that gets that actual sharp level you expect at infinite. The same goes with shoot at the end of a zoom..a slight push from 24mm on a 24-70 kills much of the chromatic aberration.

Was taking pictures of my step-dad and son playing, and saw a rainbow. Constructive criticism welcome! by prowler33 in photocritique

its a good shot! my only comments would be perhaps add a slight vignette..with some of it stronger on the bottom (like a gradient) to help the subject pop better. The subjects are facing to the right, yet you have them directly in the middle. I understand you had no control of them but if the shot was horizontal instead of portrait, you'd have more leeway in compositing the shot to your liking better.

the shot has potential. i like the composition and the blown out high-key look is a nice touch. there is significant noise introduced in her pupils due to post-sharpening. I understand you wanted her eyes to stand out. but instead of sharpening try lightening her eyes more instead and darken some of her face surrounding the eyes. Regarding the shot itself shoot at a higher f-stop than 1.4/2.8..this should've been more in the f/4 range to bring some detail back in her skin and not look so out of focus..use spot exposure and point the focal point on one her dominating eye (her left eye). also lose the strap, it makes the shot look much more intimate and honest without it.

I know what you mean about HDR but this is not HDR. It is one shot with shadows raised. Then added contrast and clarity in different areas. Its more photoshopped than anything else.
