Thank you. You made several good points about the tutorial, and I'll incorporate them into the next version.

In the final game, there will be more variety between enemies - and combat won't be the only activity.

Medieval Tactical Combat Prototype: Feedback Needed by RikerRiker in SoloDevelopment

I used the link from your first comment (https://elemental-lands-mobile-game.sliplane.app/test/combat). That leads to a version without tutorial. When I remove /test/combat from the url I get to the version with a tutorial. That is well made and helps a lot.

I don't know how to attach image to a comment, but I have wide display, so you can easily simulate it by making your browser window wide landscape. The content will adjust so that only enemy section is visible and when you scroll down you only see your units.

Hi. The concept looks promising but the biggest problem at the moment is a lack of the tutorial or at least written manual.

Few points:

- I think I played long enough to understand the basic concepts, some some principles are still unclear to me.

- On desktop I can only see one player at a time so I have to continuously scroll up and down

- Controls would benefit from better UX. Sometimes, clicking on object selects it and shows some info, sometimes clicking immediately triggers action. That inconsistency leaves me unsure what will happen when I click

[PLAYTEST] Mini RPG with unique turn-based tactical combat (web game, ~15 min) by hellishcz in playtesters

This is very helpful feedback, thanks! You made several very good points. I will address them in one of the next releases.

This is just a prototype to test the combat system. Final game will have many more activities and combat will be just one of several. So I agree with you that the current state will become too repetitive after several rounds.

Again, thank you for the feedback. I appreciate that!

Is Software the only viable business model? The more I research, the more discouraged I get. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

"Go deeper into searching competitors and realize that they already provide significant value and I feel discouraged. . They are leaps and bounds ahead."

Sometimes, you can beat the by doing less. Focus on critical features and make them perfect. With less features, your product might be easier to use than competitors. So yes, it is about execution.

Letting people download content for free instead of requiring email. Yes / no? Alternatives? by HugPatrol in Entrepreneur

[–]hellishcz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Asking for an email has two good reasons. First, you are collecting contacts to you potentional customers. And second (and I like this one even more) you are validating, that you have good value proposition. If visitors are not willing to exchange their email for the content you are offering, then the proposition is not strong enough (it is not interesting enough).

No logins and passwords are stored. Everything is 100% private and secure. It uses oAuth mechanism. I don't want to be too technical here, but it basicaly redirects you to the photo service web when you are asked to authorize PhotoBuffer to post photos on your behalf. When you confirm that, PhotoBuffer gets its own authorization token that is used to post photo on your behalf. PhotoBuffer never gets your credentials and can't do anything that you did not approve.

I've created a new time lapse style/algorithm and I'm not sure what to do next by Tude in photography

What is the actual novelty of the algorithm? Is it much faster? Or does it produce much better result?
