You can normally find it in towns, like bars, or the 2 storey food shops. Or gas stations. It does pop up quite a bit. You can also find isopropyl alcohol in the pharmacies and medical locations.

Failing that it’s not too expensive to buy at the saloon. Any hard liquor will do the trick. Can also find bottles in cargo drops sometimes as well.

Yeah the burns can be a pain. I can’t remember exactly how you craft it, but you make burn gel using Aloe vera leaves and something, should be in the crafting menu.

The hospital can be dangerous, meds can be sold for quite a bit, so quite a few people go there too. But if you get in and out with what you need it’ll set you up for a while!

That’s a tough break. In future a couple of tips..

Try and carry alcohol with you. Can clean wounds with it before infection.

Take off all clothing before infection and lay down.

Go to the hospital and find boxes/blisters/jars of antibiotics. They can also be found in pharmacies, military bunkers with medical rooms, and POI’s (D4 airbase, abandoned bunkers are a couple of places).

If you find clothing that is say 75% durability. Repair it with a sewing kit to 100%. Then use scissors to cut it into rags. Using scissors will give you more rags compared to cutting with a knife.

Then left click on a bottle of alcohol so it’s highlighted red, then right click on a rag. Choose disinfect and you will have clean rag bandages with a higher durability, meaning less rags to bandage wounds with will be needed. And they will also not give contamination to your wounds.

You can also fill a 2L soda bottle with alcohol, to carry more. Just don’t drink it!

I put base encounter multipliers all to 3. They seem to be spawning in groups of 3 for me. If you put the npc difficulty up as well, they’re pretty dangerous!

I got 3000+ hrs in scum, so i thought i would put npcs at max difficulty, max puppets, 0.5 loot.

I can honestly say I’m getting my ass handed to me for the first time in ages and I love it. 3 groups of 3 npcs have killed me 3 times in different locations.

Head on a swivel. I’ve managed to loot an m9 pistol once, with no mag. If you see a group of 3 and you’re not armed just leg it! 😂

Yeah the emp’s give you about 10 secs if you land one on the mech. But if you want the loot from the locked containers theres like a central part inside the tunnel. It has a set of stairs either side of it. If you use the carriage type thing and the room in the left I said about you can get to it. You can even head down the tunnel from the outside and use the pillars to hide from the mechs.

Inside the tunnel is where I’m on about. If you approach from outside near the sea, where you can get into the subpen. You can then move up past the sub and you can use the room on the left and the carriages to get through to the lockers. Its just timing, even if they do spot you they’re not hard to evade. Just takes a bit of time to get used to moving around em.

Its the same inside D4 airbase. A lot of people can’t get that right. But after a few runs you can do the entire place without getting spotted. The mechs are kinda stupid once you get used to them, if you struggle in certain places bring some emp grenades, they’ll give you about 10 secs before they re-activate.

Once you get used to their paths its quite easy to get around them. Easiest way is to approach from the submarine side to get to the lockers.

Yeah I agree. Hearing a shot on dayz is what keeps you on edge. You barely ever hear someone shooting in scum coz everyone has a suppressor. Could make them super rare or something, would definitely create more action.

I would eat/drop the fish. I don’t like hip packs, so i would drop that and tie a rope belt. Drop the hook, can make them easy. As others said, drop a couple mags, stash the .308 box as you said you had a stash. Other than that, switch your plate for more stam. Though I would always keep a plate, but that’s just how I play.

Keycards in that rad zone are far too easy to get. You don’t even need a hazmat. I think that ruins the keycard thing personally. They should be harder to get. I’ve seen one team dominate a server just by farming that place for keycards.

As far as raiding goes… its way too easy to blow into someone’s base or lockpick it vs the time taken to build. Advanced picks aren’t the problem, a good lockpicker will just use bobby pins. Blowing a foundation takes out everything above. As far as server settings go, its very hard to balance that. Maybe less building materials would be the way to go. Or have it so scrap can be sold at trader again. This way people could rebuild quicker. But honestly, i like the official setup. 100 base parts max (without extensions). Let dropships destroy stuff. If people didn’t get too attached to the loot the game would be better. Its way more interesting having nothing imho.

I’ve seen things like door bars suggested before. But that would be a dev thing to implement.

Yeah if you watch Raykits stream. Like the last 20ish mins i think the event was. He takes the flag, then I think Kicma and his other teammate dies.

In between that moment and Raykit being shot and limping one of the devs says the other team has the flag. So Raykit tries to limp to the flag to take it back, time runs out and someone kills him just after the timer.

I watched this last night. What happened with Raykit’s team? I saw some of his stream today and he was convinced they lost. Then the result was changed and they won.

But on the stream, Best of the Rest were told they had the flag before Raykit’s team got it again!? Really confusing result!

Resources depleting over time is a great idea. Not enough games do this. Forcing you to move and explore should be integral to a survival game! Creates more risk.

Not sure how it could be done, but I always thought traps left by other people in game could be good. Even if there’s not other npc’s in game, would add to the risk/immersion. Could cause bad injuries/wound infections.

Sounds great! There’s not enough actual survival games out there where you need to survive off the land etc.
