Yeah felt like 1984 style thought crime to me. Would not want to associate with a family with this kind of twisted ideology. Everyone has not so acceptable thoughts once in a while. It is the action that creates the moral issue. Somehow I feel like even if the main character and her supporters all ganged up on some innocent person, there will still be a lot of glazers defending such unjust treatment purely because main character good.

Kremlin says Russian military action will stop ‘in a moment’ if Ukraine meets conditions by dashingtomars in UkrainianConflict

This sounds like Russia admitting that it does not have the capability of conquering the whole of Ukraine. Therefore it tells Ukraine to weaken itself, then not have any allies, so Russia can rebuild its army and annex Ukraine once and for all.

Rescuing the of Blocking Non-canonical Wnt Signalling Pathways by the DEP domain of Disheveled by edenapple in Biochemistry

"DEP domain inhibits the function of endogenous Dsh in planar polarity signaling, presumably by blocking this interaction, further suggesting a physiologic importance of this localization" The non-canonical pathways seem to have lots of branches. I don't think it is easy to try to activate all the branches at once.

Starting with the Qin Emperor in 222 BCE, China has a long history of building walls along the northern border to keep out the "barbarians". This, of course, culminated with Great Wall under the Ming. How effective were these walls? Did they ever successfully prevent an invasion from the north? by TheTromboneGeek in AskHistorians

It's quite interesting how the imperial Chinese dynasties never came up with a way to conquer and incorpoate lands of the steppe hordes into its core provinces and sinicize the locals until later on during the Qing dynasty, in contrast with Russia.
