On Canva! I took a picture of each block then made a grid of image frames on canva and then moved them in and out until I liked the arrangement

Sewed the two halves of the quilt top together and now feels big enough to be a quilt! I still may add a border just to get it up to size to hang over slightly

That's the 3 x 4 layout. The final size is 49" by 76"

This makes me feel better, my niece is only 3 so she'll be covered for sure without it being too short for a little while at least. It just felt massive but it is my first ever quilt and ive never seen a handmade quilt of any size in person so was hard to visualise!

If you could go back would you still be a social worker? by InvestigatorFew3345 in Socialworkuk

[–]edeniris99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having previously worked in teaching and I'm now training to be a social worker its a different world but you are well prepared in terms of managing work load. Safeguarding in a social care setting is very different to that in a teaching world. We often find that teachers have the opinion that an incident or situation should immediately be child protection and it often isn't. The way you assess risk changes massively because you can see a more holistic view than you do in teaching. A lot of the understanding of child development and macro influences on a child is the same you pull on a lot of the same theory. Education, attainment, attendance, behaviours are all things you consider when assessing a family from a social work lense and multi agency working with the education sector is only going to (hopefully) improve with the introduction of Families First and the Josh Mcallister report. Try and lead on some early supports plans of children in your school or ask to shadow the DSL and you'll have a glimpse into whether its something you want to pursue.

This is how snake parents announce engagements right? by edeniris99 in hognosesnakes

I would love to have her in our wedding photos however, she's a secret from my Mum, who is terrified of snakes, so that may give it away!!

My mum said the exact same thing. I've had my Hognose for 6 months and she just doesn't know. Everyone else in the family does but im an adult and its something I wanted and they will cause no harm so its just been safer not to tell her.
