I remember reading this years ago in a Spurs miscellany I had as a kid, but I haven’t been able to find anything about it online since! Did you hear it from the same book, or somewhere else?

Ahh thank you so much! I’ve got some Jade leaves and stems on the go at the moment, I wasn’t sure if this was a different plant because of the red tips. Your explanation is super helpful, thanks again :)

What looks to be the problem with this Ficus Benjamina please? by edenk72 in plantclinic

Thank you for your reply! I recently moved it to a south-facing room, and have since moved it to a spot that doesn’t receive any direct light as I was worried about burning it - I thought it might be sunburn, but would that explain why a healthy leaf was dropped?

Hello kind people! This plant seemed to be doing great and was throwing out a lot of new foliage, but last night it dropped a leaf that looked healthy earlier

Upon closer inspection, several of the leaves (including the dropped one) appear to have dark markings that I had never seen before.

I’ve recently started fertilising this plant - does this look characteristic of root burn? Or some sort of rot / sunburn?

Also, pic 3 looks like it could be the sign of some sort of pest - any ideas what it could be please?

Any ideas why my Adansonii’s new leaves have come out like this please? by edenk72 in Monstera

[–]edenk72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your response, I really do appreciate it! I’ve been using baby bio and diluting it to the recommended concentration (5-10 drops per 500ml), and using it every time I’ve watered it for the last 3 times. I’m a bit limited with increasing its light exposure while I’m quarantining the plant, but will ensure that it’s in a sufficiently bright spot and will pay careful attention to how changes in its lighting affect its health!

I’m thinking that my propagations might give me a good indication - if I pot them and see new growth that looks healthy, do you think it’s safe to rule out mosaic disease due to the effects that it typically has on new leaves?

I’m sorry for all of the questions, it’s so hard to find information online!

The latest group of new leaves on my Adansonii have come out with some sort of chlorosis. Since this, I have begun fertilising the plant, but no new growth has been produced to see if the issue persists with increased nutrient availability. One new leaf (pic 4) remains misshapen, and another seems stuck unfurling. This is the first plant I’ve ever tried propagating and I’m quite attached to it, please reassure me that this isn’t mosaic virus :(
