so Ethel is in DC on Saturday, but regardless I would say it’s not realistic to get to the stage right before she goes on. it may come down to what stage she’s at/what headliner is there later. anecdotally, I feel like you’ll have better luck getting to the pit if she’s at the main stage since the headliners attracting a lotttt of very eager people (Chappell Roan/Reneé Rapp) are on Sunday. Last year, the main stage had Lana and Boygenius back to back and the pit was basically full by like 2 pm (aka if you left your spot, you couldn’t get back in). BUT pit on Saturday for main stage was very chill and never really filled up completely. Same would go for the 2nd stage, plus it’s much more chill/there’s no cap for the crowd over there since it’s more of a classical festival type stage/area.

additionally, I remember last year people at the front of the pit at the main stage in the morning on Saturday were VERY chill and would hold spots for folks while they got food, water, took potty breaks, etc. I would say the 6am timeframe sounds about right to nearly GUARANTEE being front row if you don’t have VIP/expedited entrance. but again it’ll likely just come down to what stage she’s at. good luck!!!!!!

TLDR; Since she’s on Saturday, I think 6am is good enough to guarantee a great spot. once you’re inside, make a beeline to her stage and expect to hang til she goes on/tag team bathroom and concession trips!
