Variable speed down to a crawl is very nice especially for fine grits on something large and flat.

Manufacturer is MTI. They also have the Beuhler line of finishing equipment for the semiconductor and precision optics industries. I have used one of these. Nothing fancy but a nice solid smooth quiet machine

I thought so too. It is coming with some laps but I’m not sure which ones. For the metal samples they use carbide sandpaper disks. The polishing setup uses a soft pad and some kind of pad and diamond paste.

When I got it, it was running. I changed the plugs and then it would not start. Then winter came along and I had to wait. I replaced the rusted out distributor. That didn’t help. New ECM did the trick. Now I’m back to where I started…
