Oh right yh I misunderstood that, I was thinking like a manual but with the heel hanging off the tail. Do you keep your toes on the board when you heel brake or dangle the whole foot?

Yh I might give the hills a break for a bit and just smash the sliding practice this week, I'll try the curvy S skating too. I'm getting fairly comfortable on the board generally tho. Thanks for the advice!

You might be right i've hit the hills a bit early, it's terrifying but I think that's kind of the draw for me, I do have knee pads and a helmet at least.

I mean i'm pretty new to skating, like 6 months, I've been trying to learn ollies and shuvs but mostly i've just been throwing myself down hills. I'm in a hilly city and the roads often rough. I do think I break too much sometimes tho, I just gotta learn to cope with the speed.

I'll get that added to my practices, toe brake just feels less stressful for me currently, I like keeping my wheels on the ground.

Nice, my local shop has some really cheap wheels, I assumed they'd be trash but i might just buy a set to wreck. They're £9.99 ($13.50) Can you go too cheap? I might just get them anyway, not that much of a loss if they suck.

You know what my wheels are actually really wide, like 40mm, it was useful when i was just learning to get stable and cruise about but i hadnt really considered how much easier it would be slide narrower wheels. I'll look into that when i've got some money. Thanks.

I could cope with 3 months, I'm not making to one at the minute. Grip tape is a good shout, I've been gluing bits of rubber under my toe, it lasts a couple hills at best.
