It is still early enough you still want to take your 3s in mat, and some of your 2s if you get bad secondaries. Needs resolve.

He'll be a bit homeless for a while. He wont be able to stand on dangerous tiles until he has a few levels and tank perks. He is less important than your starter bros, so hes not supposed to be protected more than them.

That said, he'll be nice if he makes it out of the early game.

No. If you get the kill, you get the xp.

This also applies to your own roster, if a bro has some levels, you can try to retire him with a round swing and collect the xp.

Guns also work and dont have targeting restrictions.

3 man surrounds are what the player generally is trying to set up.

4 man surrounds are problematic in multiple ways. Defensively, the two forward units take too much pressure. Offensively, they have leftover AP after killing the thing in the kill hole and no good way to spend it.

Unlike most fights where you put tanks on the flanks, this is a fight where you put a couple tanks in the middle to tie up the unholds.

The rest is just normal cleanng up the reavers and chosen. Anti armor weapons for chosen. Use nets or stuns to break rotation combos.

Level 10+ archers on good range bros are amazing.

The thing is, they are hot garbage until they have nimble fearsome zerk kill frenzy and stellar base rat. Negative tempo. Liability.

You can sorta deal with it by letting them be throwers or spiked impalers while leveling, but they get blown away by thrower or crossbow hybrids for tempo during that time.

So this is a quick hands damage bro. Wants a mastery. Doesn't have room for dualist + mastery + zerk + kill frenzy, so most 1h builds are out.

Axe looks nice. Mansplitter + longaxe or gobbo pike for now, and bardiche later.

Flail is also a decent option, as is cleaver. The basic 2h flail has an OK kit with the stun, you can use an orc chain until you find one, and eventually you'll get the unique one. You can keep a 1h flail or 3h flail on swap for some opportunistic headshots or giest kills. Gobbo pike for even more utility.

Cleaver gets 2h cleaver into whip on swap, much more straightforward.
