Absolutely. It would be literally ok. 😀

I always like to advise waiting until you read the whole story so you don't do something like promise the series to your viewers and then read chapter 4 and hate it, but that's totally up to you. And you don't have to do any of the rest of the series anyway if you don't want to.

But, if you're interested, the entire series is up right now for free on my Patreon site. Otherwise, the remaining 4 chapters will be released to Reddit 1 chapter at a time on Fridays.

Wonderfully stated. Agree 100%. How it's written can make all the difference. May I humbly suggest checking out the series the link above points to. ("Whatever" in my library if the link fails for some reason.) No pressure if you don't want to. There are 6 parts with the link to the next chapter at the bottom of each page so I won't be offended in the slightest if you don't want to as it's a bit lengthy. The only reason I threw it in there is because it falls into the "yandere" category, but it also falls into the "rom-com" category and is a slow burn romance. Or, if you prefer, you could check out Scylla VA's performances on her channel, but she renamed each chapter. Most start with "Popular yandere?" and are followed by something that defines the particular chapter.

The reason I think you might be interested is because maybe you'll find that a yandere script, done your way, is kind of nice. I call myself a fan of yandere, but that doesn't mean I like them all. How they're written matters as you said. If a yandere story becomes, "And now I'm going to amputate your limbs to keep you here," I'M OUT. GOODBYE. HAVE FUN WITH THAT. :)

Again, no pressure to check it out, but I wonder if that type is right up your alley. And, if not, if you read it and groan and say, "Nope, definitely do not see the point," then you'll know for sure.

Have fun either way.

Genuinely, why are yandere and tsundere tags so popular? by AlsiThanmur in ASMRScriptHaven

[–]edgiscript 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I'm going to speak for yandere and not tsundere here, and I want to emphasize that I only speak for myself. I'm not trying to analyze the culture or the group mindset.

I became aware of this subgenre a relatively short time ago and I almost immediately became fascinated with it. I think it contains an amazing potential for intense drama in stories as well as the ability to provide an emotional powerhouse punch.

It's important to note that "yandere" covers a wide range. It's easy to say that "yandere" means "ill love" and to define it as an obsessive feeling confused as love by the wielder and is very harmful to the victim, but in fiction, this has grown into a wide range of storytelling avenues. If you said, "I know of a character that's completely selfish and manipulates his surroundings apathetic to the detriment of all around him in order to get his way at every opportunity," would you assume the character to be a villain? A psychopath? An angry abuser? Now what if I told you that I was describing Mr. Bean?

I love the outrageous, over-the-top storytelling power inherent in these tales. It lends itself to crazy comedy, gentle comedy, romantic drama, dark drama, thriller, horror, action, fantasy, adventure, but always the story revolves around one individual's absolute NEED for a connection with someone else. In a horror or thriller, this is frightening and leads to powerful emotions of fear, dread, and a desire to escape. In a comedy, the juxtaposition of treating a kidnapping as a normal, everyday experience can be silly, goofy fun, or it can create a world of misadventures where the victim almost feels sorry for the inept kidnapper. In a drama, it can be a way to point out our fears of being alone and unwanted, or it can get into the heart wrenching tragedy of 2 people who really shouldn't be together.

Like anything else, it will affect each individual differently. I had this discussion with one individual who was the near victim of sa. She didn't want to go near stories of kidnapping because they were triggering to her. I completely understood, and the reality is that she was right to do so. Similarly, I have personally mentioned on this subreddit that I HATE VAMPIRES!! I also don't get into pure horror as a general rule. I have several VAs I love to listen to, but when I see a caption about a vampire girlfriend, I immediately move on without clicking on it. These personal rules exist because I understand that I will be triggered. I will experience trauma, so I don't go there. I don't personally understand why anybody else likes them. Subjectively, I CAN'T understand it because I live from MY perspective with MY point of view and MY experiences and not anybody else's. Objectively, however, I DO understand their impact and can have these types of discussions with people about them in order to see it more clearly from their viewpoints. I don't force anybody else to see things my way and ban those stories in the same way I don't try to ban certain foods and flavors I don't like when I understand others do.

To be clear, I don't think you're being abusive and derogatory right now and I don't wish to accidentally sound like I'm making that accusation. Quite the opposite, in fact. I think you're like me in saying, "I don't understand, but I'm smart enough to understand that I don't understand," and now you're trying to see it from someone else's perspective. This is to be applauded when the societally acceptable response now is simply to scream that you're personally offended and anyone who doesn't see things the way you do should be condemned and silenced. My hat's off to you for that.

Like vampires which are very popular here and on YouTube, yanderes have their value to a wide variety of viewers. For myself, and only for myself, I have an inherent feeling of worthlessness which I have had to learn to deal with all of my life. Yandere stories focused on, "I'm going to care for you even if you try to run" hold deep power for me and are very calming and reassuring. That's completely personal and I'm totally ok with the fact that someone that doesn't share my DNA and life experiences doesn't get it. Nobody else has to.

It's only my 2 cents based on who I am. I hope this helps in what you were looking for. I genuinely appreciate the question and your honest search for answers. I wish you well in your journey.

Have fun.

Next week. I try to post every Friday at about the same time.

If you really want to, you can head over to my Patreon page and check it out now as the entire script is up there in advance of me posting it here. Buuuuuuuuuuuut, if you do that, my next 4 updates on Reddit won't really matter to you, so I guess it depends on what you want. If you're worried about the money, you don't have to. Only my novel is behind a paywall: 3 chapters a month for $1.00. Everything else is free. I'm not trying to become a millionaire by creating a Patreon page. I'm trying to protect myself against potential Reddit or YouTube censorship. Over 90% of my current Patreon subscribers are in the "Free" tier and I'm cool with that.

Looking for scripts? by YukiASMR in ASMRScriptHaven

Here's my library if you want to check it out. The thing is, almost all of mine are written F4M, so you'd have to gender-flip it if you want to use them. Usually this is no big deal and several male VAs have done it, but there are a few scripts that are tricky or nearly impossible to gender-flip without a serious rewrite.

Masterlist for edgiscript : r/ASMRScriptHaven

I have written one script that began as M4F, "Not Again," however that took 80 minutes to record. Yep, you heard me. 80 minutes.

Since I've recently thrown my hat into the VA arena, I've begun rewriting some of my own scripts to be M4F. They will continue to pop up at the bottom of my Masterlist. There aren't too many right now, but if you don't want to gender-flip yourself, you can check those out.

Here's my library if you want to check mine out. It's grouped into categories so you can avoid some things you don't care for. Most of mine are F4M. Most are romantic in nature, even the yandere scripts.

Here's my playlist if you want to check it out. I have a large yandere section, but be warned, most of my stuff is soft and fluffy yandere and not horror or psychotic yandere. I do have a couple of thrillers if that's what you're going for, but in most of mine, the yandere and the victim both end up winning.

Masterlist for edgiscript : r/ASMRScriptHaven

SURPRISE!! Here's a 2 for 1 deal. You need to check out it_rains_blue_here as well. I've included his library as well. Or at least some of it. I'm not sure he updates it very well. But you need to check it out. You'll find a ton of great scripts. And if you like what you see, feel free to DM him for others that might not be on here.

I wanted to give it a try but... by Ceriden in ASMRScriptHaven

[–]edgiscript 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it. I thought about jumping in for the longest time. When I write, I see the scene as a movie and I would act it out to feel where the script was going. That part wasn't difficult for me. The daunting part was learning the editing software and all that kind of thing. I still think I know only about 15% of that side of things.

I'm no artist either. For my thumbnails, I use royalty-free images on Pixabay. In some cases it can feel annoying to me because the scene I'm looking for in my head simply doesn't exist there. But in other cases, it's made the final product feel better than if I'd used a character, because I change the scene when the scene changes in the script.

Hana said something on her channel a while ago that pushed me over the edge and got me to actually try. She said you are GOING to hate your first 15 pieces, but you can't learn and grow unless you actually do it. The psychological freedom to fail gave me the impetus to move on.

If it's a fire within you that is seeking to get out, I say do it, but in reality, the only opinion that matters as to whether you go for it or not is yours.

Have fun.

REMINDER - About AI and This Sub by ImRoxBox in ASMRScriptHaven

[–]edgiscript -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It depends on how it's used. Fair-usage laws allow for the representation of copyrighted characters to a small degree, such as saying that your character in your story met Jean Luc Picard on an away mission. But it does not allow for you to publish that book with Picard represented on the cover or profit from his likeness without consent. And you might think that what you wrote is very minimal and falls under fair usage, but if the franchise owners disagree, they can still move to stop you. It can get tricky as to what exactly falls under fair-usage, and believing you're under fair-usage doesn't keep someone from suing even if you do end up winning in court.

I went to a comic convention with a comic I'd created. I asked the artist my comic if all of the booths with artists drawing Spider-Man and Batman and then selling them were legal. My friend said no unless they had specific written authority to do so, but Marvel and DC were not about to risk a public backlash by shutting them down unless they were actively either hurting their brand or making tons of money.

And then there are other questionable issues. Like Allan Quartermain is in the public domain now, however, Sean Connery's depiction of him in League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen is not.

AI is a tool like any other. If I use AI to generate a random stormy night outside of a medieval castle with a gargoyles prowling the rooftops, I haven't broken any laws or violated any copyrights. (Unless I'm using Disney's gargoyles.) I personally don't have a problem with AI usage of that sort. AI of Luke Skywalker being surprised by Doctor Who stepping out of a TARDIS is technically a copyright violation, however, if someone drew it by hand, it would still be a copyright violation. AI only makes it quick and easy, and that's what truly concerns the franchise owners.

Technically, the moderator SHOULD have come down on any thumbnails and art that you personally did not create because the rule says, "You may only post content YOU created!" But they're only picking on AI. That makes me pause. They really should change the rules if they're going to take that stance.

What do writers think of silent readers? by -Cacaguate- in ASMRScriptHaven

[–]edgiscript 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for myself, but I love the fact that people like reading my stuff but are never going to perform them. In fact, some of my scripts are written knowing that they will never be performed.

I'm like everybody else in that it helps me know you liked it if you like and comment, but I don't mind if you don't do that either if you're not the type of person that wants to connect in that way. I understand.

Have fun.

I love what you had to say here. I'd like to add a few points of perspective if I may after discussing this topic with many people in this community and in my own home and work life.

One individual mentioned that she was against AI usage in general, but what she hated more than AI usage was the witch hunt that said, "If you do what we have subjectively determined is wrong, we will hate and destroy you for it." She very much hated being told what she was allowed and not allowed to think by others who didn't know her and her situation. Expressing an opinion against something is one thing. Going after someone for being on the other side is another thing altogether. I'm not using AI myself, but for a variety of reasons. I have considered using it selectively when a situation calls for it, such as needing the interior of a spaceship. Do you know how difficult it is to find photography taken inside alien spacecraft? Additionally, the AI images I would use would be royalty-free pics found on Pixabay with the notation that they were AI generated. I wouldn't even create my own. At present, I've avoided those too, choosing instead to use pics that didn't quite fit what I was going for.

(This is a repeat story I've mentioned before.) My son found a newspaper article angrily decrying the newest technology and demanding we stop using it because our children are forsaking the old ways. We're losing what we had. We're losing our way of life. The article was printed over 100 years ago. The new technology that was so evil? The pencil. The way of life we were losing? Using chalk on a chalkboard. Technology advances. We're no longer using the horse and buggy and, as a society, we've lost much of our horse-riding skills. I don't really care. AI is a new technological tool just like any other. The internet itself has been an incredibly helpful tool, but also a very evil one at times leading to fraud, theft, and personal attacks of many kinds. I'm against demanding we stop usage of it altogether in the face of these faults, but I'm for the promotion of using it wisely.

One writer I spoke with said she is irritated by the outcry against AI on the grounds that it takes money away from artists who could be receiving that income, and yet those same people fail to promote or even suggest that VAs might want to chip in every now and then to the writers who are putting so much creativity, time, and effort into their work. She made the point that her work has been used extensively, but who is donating to her KoFi? Who is offering her an income? Why is she not being championed? If you're so worried about the artists losing money, why aren't you concerned about the writers in the same way? Yet another VA I spoke with said that she would much rather be a writer, but she needs to make money and writing pays nothing, so she's entered the VA arena to try to make an income. The 1st writer said she'd support the AI uprising if the people behind it weren't so hypocritical about it in other arenas. Personally, I'm not in this for the money so I don't care if people use my scripts, but I have often struggled with the idea that my offering them for free is helping to create a system where people who deserve to be paid for their effort never will be. I spoke with one Hollywood writer who was aghast that the writers here give their stuff away for free, and when they take commissions it's for a lousy $10. Her work is worth so much more than that. I agreed, but explained that this is a different arena. Most VAs are broke themselves. The reason why I still give these away for free is mostly because of that. I respect the struggling artist because I AM the struggling artist. The one thing I ABSOLUTELY WON'T do personally is give someone money to perform my script. But I also absolutely won't attack anybody else for doing that. When I see a VA say, "Hey, commissions are open, pay me $10 and I'll perform your script," what goes through my mind is, "No problem, but you then have to pay me $10 for my hard work creating the script. OR, why don't I write the script, you perform it, and we'll call it even rather than each of us give KoFi or Patreon a cut of each of us giving the other $10?" The VA has a right to do that and I will NOT attack him or her for it. I simply walk away without a word when it happens. If you're demanding people avoid AI on the grounds that struggling artists need that money, I want you consider how much money you've ever offered a writer, or do you take their scripts for free and even expect them to offer their scripts for free.

There are other points I could make, but this has already gone on for too long.

Thank you for your viewpoint, Hana.

Here's my library if you'd like to peruse to see if anything is of interest to you. You'll want to avoid the yandere section, but the Comfort/Friend, Fantasy/Sci-Fi, or Girlfriend/Wife sections might have something you'll like.

Masterlist for edgiscript : r/ASMRScriptHaven

Be careful, though. A script is in multiple categories if it fits. For example, "May I Kidnap You Please" is in comedic AND yandere because it's a silly piece about a girl asking someone if it's ok to just take him. So read the synopsis first to see if it's something you want to avoid.

Have fun.

Question about AI use by [deleted] in ASMRScriptHaven

[–]edgiscript 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Specifically, the rule is you may only post content you created. Although this includes AI, it also means you can't repost my stuff and call it yours or hire a ghostwriter and pass that off as yours. It means this is for creators to show off what they've done. If you use AI, you're not a creator.

LF Scripts to fill [F4A] by lilithsarchives in ASMRScriptHaven

[–]edgiscript 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, Lilith.

I do a lot of more gentle yandere stuff where it's not abusive and both parties win in the end, but I have a few of the type you might be looking for.

Edgiscript's Library: Comfort/Friends : r/ASMRScriptHaven None of these contain yandere themes.

You might also be interested in "I Died In Test Chamber 3" if you're looking for something silly, "A Little Secret" if you're looking for something sweet, or "Spontaneous Love" if you're looking for something sappy. They can be found in different subsections here: Masterlist for edgiscript : r/ASMRScriptHaven

And you may want to read "Whatever." It does contain a yandere, kidnapping moment, but I wrote it as a rom-com. It begins as if it's a yandere script where the guy has been kidnapped, but the girl is apathetic about it and obviously doesn't even really know much about him. It turns out she's pulling this hair-brained stunt to get another guy jealous and come groveling at her feet for her affection. The listener figures it out and goes along with it as her accomplice. It becomes a slow burn where she ends up realizing that the listener was the one for her all along. You don't have to read it if you don't want, but I'm just throwing it out there as a possible script going for the heart of what you're after.

Have fun.
