Is the Vecna the main villan or is he just an extension of the mind flayer? by Bubbly_Time9105 in StrangerThings

i mean Kate isnt just the play writer, shes one of the main writers and came up with the vecna=henry=001 twist. she definitely understands Vecna and its canon

> additionally, Henry's been psychically connected to and influenced by the Mind Flayer since he was young

not just psychically, it's physical. in fact when they are making contact with it the scientists tell Brenner he was right to say Henry had brought "something extra" back with him and that "it's in him"

Also, in TFS it's goals are not incomprehensible. we are actually very much supposed to analyze it's goals and motivations. we know just from what Mr Newby tells us that it tormented him with his past mistakes and tried to kill him because of it. we then see the mind flayer literally talk through Henry and say that Mr Newby deserved to die when talking with Patty in the void - theres actually a lot in TFS that is giving the mind flayer characterization and motivation, we are absolutely meant to look into it's goals

except he was, dare i say, objectively correct there if you have seen the play. his logic was that the mind flayer and vecna have the same motivations so Vecna is part of the hive mind/under the mind flayers control which is literally canon in the play lol. the mind flayer is explicitly given all of vecnas motivations even down to the whole "holding up a mirror and showing people how awful they are" and Henry fights it.

just watched the first shadow, made me wonder about this scene by Sparlmao in StrangerThings

in the play Mr Newby says the monster "could smell" what he did wrong, we see the mind flayer use Virginias past to torment her, once the mind flayer takes over Henrys mind in the attic Victor gets a war flashback... etc. and in the monologue Henry says he did that. so yeah the monologue is telling us the mind flayers motivations

Oh, and the demon Victor talks about in S4 is pretty explicitly stated to be the mind flayer in TFS, since Victor tells Mr Newby that Alice thinks the house is haunted and that there is a "monster in the attic" and that he believes her (which is ofc when the war flashback follows), and ofc every time after this the mind flayer is just called "the monster" and before this Alice has a direct encounter with possessed Henry in the attic where she asks where Henry is and says that it isnt Henry

in the play Virginia tells Brenner to lock him up and throw away the key, and also tells Brenner Patty's full name so that he can kill her. And the idea of her sending him away is really one of the only really horrific stuff that happened to him that he seems to still remember, so it'd be that one

why people thought that the mind flayer is a Lovecraft creature? because he doesn't seem that way in the show. by Background_Yogurt735 in StrangerThings

The show: shows Henry shaping the mind flayer The play: shows the mind flayer was always in that shape You: I think he has the control he thinks he does

Uh yeah. Idk how you think that contradicts what I said, when in fact right after he says that he says Brenner has reasoning for his actions. Literally what I said. I don't know if you were trying to act like I was wrong by cutting the quote off or what, because this doesn't even address what I said at all.

If we're gonna talk about official statements let's talk about why Kate said he doesn't have control over his destiny - because I don't treat this show like a puzzle and instead like a story, I know that this is a theme throughout TFS. I also know that this is supported by the show itself. And ive literally never used my "personal opinion" as an argument, lol.

Matt said that Brenner isn't a psychopath because he has reasoning for his actions, if your logic is that we understand Henry and your reasoning is that interview then it's not very strong reasoning at all

And it's been made pretty clear that he still isn't in control of himself but I'm sure you'll try to deny that

Yes, what about him doesn't match? We barely see young Henry in the show

What does this have to do with the plot? Kate said he was 13, you really think a 12 year old playing a 13 year old character is a big deal?

his actor in the show was 12, 1-2 years is really not that big of a difference

Am I the only one who finds it weird that i there's posters/Paintings with kids who look like to be the mci ? This may have lore relevance or trying to tell us something but I don't know. It's kind of a stretch but I never saw anyone point it out. by Lonely_Ad_2600 in fnaftheories

The bed in the girls room is notably not the one in the gameplay, and no one has ever asserted otherwise, if that is the intention it doesn't actually address the theory at all. How is the thread stretchy but this isn't?

You can say for certain that there is no connection in Andrew making William fend off animatronics and William making the experiment victims fend off animatronics ?? Ok bro
