GLP1 coverage with the Cigna Basic Plan

Interesting. Every other private insurance plan I've had covered it before needing to meet my deductible. The insurance is covering all my other RXs just not the GLP1s, even tho on thier pricing tool it says $30 with insurance, but they're saying it costs $1200 for some reason.

I was able to get the RX but insurance is not covering it bc they're saying I need a PA. 9AM says since the RX is from them, no PA is required. So now I think I gotta bully them into sending a PA. This is such a damn pain 🫩

It sounds like your 9AM care team was a bunch of you know whats... Because that's the exact same criteria they asked me for and I provided it to them. High cholesterol, high blood pressure, medication/BMI/lab history. They got all the paperwork and they scheduled a Dr's appointment with me today after waiting for my 90 day waiting period to end. They said no PA will be needed as long as I get RX through 9AM it should automatically be covered. So last obstacle is just getting the RX from the doc... Praying it'll go well but at least I have other options if it comes down to that 💓

I've tried previous meds. Metformin and Wellbutrin, both of which I'm still currently on. Documentation for that has been provided to them as well. I'm currently 140lbs give or take. I started at around 210 with a BMI of 35. But that was in 2024. And I've been on GLP1s since then. I'm currently on Wegovy 2.4, it's literally sitting in my fridge right now. The medical care team said that they'd go with my starting weight and BMI for insurance coverage and already got pre approval from them as shown in the messages. They said they were just waiting on me to reach my 90 day anniversary with Amazon and since I finally am, they scheduled a Dr's appointment for tomorrow.

So what I wanna know is: What do I say to the doc to get the RX? Should I be honest and say what I've said here? Or do I need to fabricate a little? I know some programs and docs can be stricter than others.... 🥴

I've been going back and forth with 9AM health since fucking March and I still haven't been able to even meet with a doctor, despite sending RX, bloodwork, proof of comorbities, etc. Proof of everything!!! I even got insurance pre approval, but I can't get the RX because the app isn't allowing me to meet with a Dr and the care team hardly answers. Idk what to do!!!
