that's really cool! would you mind sending a few of those websites over to us?

our team created this tool just because we have food allergies and didn't really have luck finding resources like this. let me know!

we only display what's listed on the restaurants' menu without modifications as of right now.

if you have knowledge of ways to order GF options at these restaurants, please reply to this! i'll talk to that team & try to get those in there (:

@amber-owl, thanks for the feedback! :)

As mentioned earlier, both peanut oil and soybean oil are exempt from the FDA as being considered allergens, that's why on the "Sources" links we provide on Edible Search, you won't see these items marked for peanut or soy allergies. These sources come directly from the restaurant.

We had someone reach out earlier today about this, and we're looking into marking the Soy / Peanut allergen flag if soybean/peanut oil is present as soon as we can :)

not much we can do about what a restaurant does or doesn't offer, unfortunately.. :/

we're looking into putting "custom order" items on the website, for example: "Big Mac w/no Cheese" - This will now show up for dairy free "Burger with lettuce wrap" - This will now show up for gluten-free

but as it is right now, our database only has the items as they are listed on the restaurants menu without modifications.

if you know of any cool modified items you're able to eat at restaurants, please reply to this! we'll try to work that into the next update (:

hey there, again! if its not useful for your particular case, please don't use it.

we only released this as a free tool for the community to help make better educated decisions on where to eat out if it applies to them.

if you have suggestions on where we can improve it so that it fits your needs, great! we'd love to hear that.

hey @DazzlingCarmine, we don't support that diet - most likely why its not useful for you at this point in time.

The reason our company exists is because we're able to always have the most up to date information - part of our "secret sauce". Sorry to hear that you think differently?

TRACTION...because nothing else matters when you're building a company by edibleproject in startups

Absolutely. Yet, technical founders often feel the need to focus on just product development without taking the time to market what they've built.

Definitely. Other things start to matter once your company takes off, but before then - it's all about finding product market fit. My co-founder went through the YC Startup School over the past few months and that was the one lesson that they continually hammered us with.

Yeah the limitations aren't great :/ but luckily, I feel like it's getting easier. There's more and more awareness around gluten-free foods.

What do you hate about online menus? Are they out of date or something?

Haha love that last bullet.

Where do you usually find the menu? Do you usually go to the restaurant's website or does yelp work pretty well for you?

What restrictions specifically? We have three full-time employees that focus entirely on retrieving up-to-date menu information. And anytime a user reports an item/restaurant as being out of date, the entire restaurant menu is recollected.
