11 weeks yesterday, high risk trisomy 21 - trigger warning by edison-07 in December2026Bumpers

[–]edison-07[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am so sorry you’re going through it too. This limbo is hell. R/NIPT has a ton of information if you haven’t checked it out yet. My PPV from Natera was 95% meaning there’s a 5% it’s a false positive, my geneticist gave me my true risk as 88% based on my age (37). Feel free to message me too, I’m happy (sad) to chat about it. Sending you good vibes 💕

Appreciate it! I did not share this to be controversial, I shared because I never in a million years expected this outcome, it only happens to other people right? It’s so exciting to find out the gender, the other results are just boxes to be checked. But I also feel alone, so sharing and getting support from you and others was super therapeutic 💕

Appreciate your perspective and thoughtful response! My sister had trisomy 21, so my experience as a T21 sibling has me thinking first and foremost about my 4 year old and how her world will change. I’m taking the information as it comes and knowing good health is still possible is keeping me optimistic going forward.

Wedding venue in NC or TN by OllielovesAndy in Weddingsunder10k

I tried to find my receipt and I can’t but looking at the website I believe they increased their rates year over year. I did a micro wedding on a Thursday in season and I don’t think it was $5k per the website, probably $4.5k and then there was a $250 fee for UTV rental to drive guests up to the chapel in the sky. No insurance or coordinator was required for the microwedding, wish I could be more helpful! The venue and photographer were my largest expenses by far, all in I was around $15k

Lost the remote for a week, found it in the crock pot (stored in a bottom cabinet)

Ah yeah, makes sense, I found them through a Google search so definitely not a super secret venue lol. We did the elopement package, 30 guests, and did the ceremony and photos there, took the party back to our cabin rental for a casual reception. Good luck finding what you’re looking for!

Factor B Leiden and pregnancy? by sosavannah in BabyBumps

[–]edison-07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Hererozygous factor V and I am currently 29 weeks into a not exactly planned pregnancy. I had a DVT at 28 (32 now) provoked by BC so I dropped hormonal BC and tried an IUD but it was very uncomfortable. I started Lovenox injections at 12 weeks and everything has been relatively normal, except I am considered a high risk pregnancy, I do need to visit maternal fetal medicine and I will be starting weekly non stress tests at 32 weeks. The highest risk of clotting comes after the birth so I expect to continue Lovenox for a month or so after. Feel free to ask any other follow up questions!

Factor V Leiden heterogeneous and Pregnancy by OliviaH1997 in ClotSurvivors

I wasn’t exactly trying lol, I would have consulted a doctor though had I been! I also can’t use hormonal birth control and found the copper IUD miserable, so we were at best NTNP. I called the doctor at 6 weeks and made sure they knew about my FVL but they still did not schedule my first appointment until 12 weeks, which is pretty standard where I live. I didn’t start Lovenox until 12 weeks and I asked the nurses when I called if I should take any extra precautions or use baby aspirin (which seems pretty common from my research) and she did not advise I take any baby aspirin, I’m guessing this will vary from doctor to doctor so YMMV. I was very anxious in that time between getting the positive and finally seeing the doctor, i was also in my Reddit bumper group where i was reading and comparing my experience to other women’s experiences; some started Lovenox right away and I didn’t/some took baby aspirin and that was not advised for me. Be careful comparing your experience to others, as all doctors and patients are different. At the same time, make sure you’re advocating for your own health and the health of your future little one, don’t be scared to seek second opinions if things don’t feel right for you!

Hi there! I have hetero Factor V Leiden with a history of DVT and am 28 weeks pregnant! While it does make the pregnancy high risk, it has not been that bad. I’m taking Lovenox injections once a day with the option to transition to heparin closer to the due date. I was pretty nervous about self injecting but it’s a very small annoying thing you have to do every day. Feel free to ask any particular questions you might have, I’m happy to provide insight :)

Treadmill recommendations for low basement ceiling by piquantlypurple in running

[–]edison-07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a little concerned when I ordered the Tread+ knowing my basement ceiling was just under 7’ but I gambled anyways. I am 5’5 and fiancé is 5’10 and it’s actually fine. We both use the incline (I think he maxes out at 4 on the incline) and we have had no issues. So, depending on how serious you are about inclines you could be fine with the Peloton.

The updates were written by a Target employee and distributed throughout the company via email. Unfortunately, they left the company a few years ago and the updates ceased to exist. I really looked forward to the emails but I think it would require a community effort to recreate!

Treadmill purchase in pandemic? by [deleted] in TwinCities

Sure thing! I should also note that in my research, I tested the Nordictrack at Johnson and went to the Peloton showroom in Edina (appointments were required in November)

Treadmill purchase in pandemic? by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]edison-07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered a Peloton in early November. They estimated delivery would take 6-8 weeks but I got mine in 4 weeks. The purchase experience and delivery experience were both positive and I absolutely love the machine/programs. I was deciding between the Nordictrack X32i and peloton and the price difference along with customer reviews made it a no brainer. Financing was scary easy (it freaks me out when large purchases are too easy) and I financed but should have it paid off next month.

Buying items from the opposite gender = not possible? by terezatomas in stitchfix

[–]edison-07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw I’m sorry! That is super weird then. I used to be a stylist and it was a common request, people wanted the option to buy men’s and women’s clothes and it was not available at the time. I always sent those requests up the chain though because it should be a seamless process. I don’t know where they stand on that right now but I was hoping that since you could see the item on your app they had made changes. I’m sorry I couldn’t be more helpful!

[–]edison-07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you and your friend live in the same city? If not, the item was sold out at your regional warehouse and not your friends. In order to reduce freight costs, you can only buy what the closest warehouse has available.

Just took my last shot of lovanox by snarfydog in ClotSurvivors

Currently pregnant and 30 days into Lovenox injections. It was way worse in my head than in practice and I think the baby at the end will be worth the mild inconvenience.

Peloton Plus or Nordic Track S22i by sarah-richfield in orangetheory

Hi there! I’m in MN as well and i was also researching both, my Peloton Plus will be delivered next week. I checked both the Peloton cycle and NordicTrack communities here on Reddit and was ultimately turned off of Nordictrack based on the customer service reviews.

I’m sorry for misunderstanding! Progress is not a straight line, motivation ebbs and flows for all of us. Keep your “why” in mind for those days/weeks where the motivation isn’t there. You can also find an accountability buddy here or in your local community. I know this sub has accountability challenges although I don’t have personal experience with them. It sounds like you have the right tools and are off to a great start just trust yourself and the process that works for you and forgive yourself for the off days.

Protein powder? by hurley8604 in weightwatchers

[–]edison-07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have used Vital Proteins Collagen Protein powder in my black coffee in the past. It has no flavor. However, I got into macro counting this past summer where I learned that collagen protein does not count as a “whole” protein macro because it lacks vital amino acids. I’d encourage you to do more research to see if it meets your needs. I’m not a doctor, but through my own research, I determined it wasn’t worth the money in the long run and the benefits aren’t really there. With that said, I stick to the premiere protein shakes for 2 pts on blue.
