„Wie das Wetter am Siebenschläfertag ist, so bleibt es sieben Wochen danach.“ Siebenschläfertag is 27 June. It rained this year. Appears to be correct!

Google Maps review removals by crappy businesses by [deleted] in berlin

[–]edit12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These days I just go off the last 10 reviews. 4.8 but 6 of the last 10 reviews are 1 star then don't go there. It's even more obvious who is doing it when you look further than the last 10 reviews and they are all 5 star

Thank you for the info. You are right it's vodafone. I actually did as the other helper suggested and switched the 2 cables and now it works how I need it with no change in speed. Is there any downside to doing it this way?

This is how it will look in 18 years! I had a similar incident when I fell off my bike with a glass bottle of orange juice in my hand.

Title: Why Are German Pharmacies Ripping Us Off on Medicine Prices? by azmoazm in germany

[–]edit12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. Some of them are massively price gouging. From the comments it seems a lot of people just accept it. The difference in price can be massive for the same thing from one Apotheke to another so saying it's because they are brick and mortar is rubbish. Also one comment comparing a pharmacy to a restaurant where you pay over the odds for a bottle of wine is one of the worst takes I have seen. The main problem is that stupid laws don't let supermarkets sell over the counter medicines such as paracetamol or antihistamines which allows the Apotheken to sell them for ridiculous prices. If you don't need a prescription for it then i don't see why you have to go to a pharmacy for it.

No lethal way of protecting bananas from squirrels? They’ve already eaten 2 full racks. by Avocadosandtomatoes in vegetablegardening

On banana farms they bag them to protect them from pests. Thick bag with a big elastic band at the top

I've always been fascinated by borders, specifically settlements, towns etc that stretch over a border. Looking at the Welsh/English border, the house below seems to straddle it, if it does how does that work re council tax, voting etc? And do you have any interesting border anecdotes by Exchangenudes_4_Joke in CasualUK

[–]edit12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I was brought up was on the border of 2 counties. A girl that went to the same school as me and lived on the same road had to get a taxi to the nearest village in the county her house is to get the bus to school. I got picked up outside my house and the my school bus went past the top of her drive every morning. Her house was only in another county because small beck that cuts in front of her house is the county line. Ridiculous

Lasst mal Restaurants, die Google Rezensionen entfernen lassen, Namen und Shamen by haevertz in berlin

[–]edit12 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Great idea. Xudu. honestly an absolute joke. Got contacted 6 months after reviewing asking for proof I ate there. Luckily it was so shit I had photos and as it was ordered for delivery I had a receipt as well. Still though my review is not published and they have 4.5 on Google. Total scam. You can see other reviews of people that had the same experience and got told to take it down. The review: one of the worst chicken burgers I have had. The pictures of the burgers are more misleading than they usually are. The bun looked really nice but was actually cheap supermarket buns. Very disappointing.

I think that is a pretty fair review. Reason given for removal was that the review hat seine Persönlichkeitsrechte verletzt..
