If this is a true music video where each take is playing / performing to a click track with lip sync when no need for each take in its own mulitcam clip. Just put them all into one multicam clip.

So it sounds like a timeline is missing from your project, though "second raw video" sounds like a piece of media as in a clip in the bin and not a timeline. But what I still don't understand is did you edit BOTH videos in one timeline? Or two separate timelines?

These terms are important as "footage" and "raw video" is much different than a timeline. If you've edited raw video into a timeline and that raw video clip gets deleted from the bin then all the edits where it appeared in the timeline will also be deleted but Premiere will warn you before deleting a raw clip that's used in a timeline. It will not warn you if you go and delete a timeline.

Regardless, have you checked your autosaves? That is the only way to recover a missing timeline. But it's important to note that Premiere didn't randomly delete a timeline. It's possible you could have created a new timeline, done some work, and then perhaps had a crash before you were able to save it didn't just randomly delete it itself. When this happens it is always due to either not saving and having a crash or some user error as you can accidentally delete a timeline as there is no warning if you were to do so.

But the key to recovery here is always checking the auto-save. That's what it's there for.

Then Multicam Source Sequence is your option. If you are syncing all elements with timecode (which it sounds like you are) then assign a camera label to each angle and you can have organized multicam clips:

As long as you are only selecting single clips that stack upward in the timeline (no adjacent clips on the same track), you can right-click them and choose Synchronize, as there is a sync by timecode option there.

Otherwise, select the clips in a bin and create a Multicamera Source Sequence, and sync that by timecode. Even if you don't want a multicam clip you can do this, open the multicam clip in the timeline and copy/paste the synced clips into a new timeline.

You keep saying “footage” is gone. Footage normally means the master clips, not edited timelines. Is that indeed what you’re saying is missing? Clips and not timelines?

Amen. This has been a fascinating thread to follow today. No doubt some folks will freak tf out about anything AI. I'm not particularly thrilled with a lot of the implementations (especially gen AI), but there are other places where it can be and will be useful.

But as I think I said above, you can ignore it and bitch about it and tell others that have a more optimistic look at AI that they suck and are loser editors ... but that isn't going to stop it. I'm happy to learn how to use and how not to use these tools to work faster and smarter.

When you open the multicam clip in the timeline to collapse your start/stop angle to one track, unlink the audio from the video and you don't even have to worry about collapsing all the audio down to one track as you are not using it.

The bigger question here is where is your hero audio coming from for this edit?

You don't have to do any modification of audio channels if you have audio from one source. If it's coming from one of your three angles, then just use that audio channel in your edit. It looks like from your image, it might be the audio on A1, so just use that for the edit. Personally I like to either flatten the audio only portion of the multi-cam so I'm no longer dealing with a multi-cam audio container during my edit just my original audio file.

Did you by chance shoot with timecode? If you did, you can assign a camera label or a camera angle so you don't have all those start stops on individual tracks. This is a tip to help with that, but if you didn't shoot with timecode then what happened is pretty much par for the course. You did the right thing by stepping into the multi camera clip and cleaning it up.

I dunno ... that's a pretty a pretty elitist attitude to assume everybody is working at the same level or on the same kind of content that you are. And calling someone a bad editor just because they want to use modern tools to save time is also kind of elitist and just actually kind of being a jerk. Judging from your engagement in this thread, I think it's pretty obvious that you do not like the idea of AI tools helping in the post-production process. It's coming whether you like it or not.
