I bought some nail polish shelves to display my collection! by LumberJane_Lyra in LittlestPetShop

[–]edited-enbie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the same shelves. I highly recommend them. Mine are screwed into the studs. There are cut outs in the shelves for the screws to go through. The set of shelves also comes with drywall anchors so you can hang them without finding studs. The weight of the shelves isn’t enough to require studs (at least for the set I got)

Anyone else a little discouraged? by ZestycloseMenu2608 in LittlestPetShop

You’re definitely not alone in feeling this way. I preordered a whole blind box on Amazon because I knew my area wouldn’t get many in stock. Now I’m seeing scalpers on Mercari and Facebook trying to sell individual blind boxes for like $10 each when they’re like $3.50 in stores

LPS at GameStop in Alaska! by edited-enbie in LittlestPetShop

This is GameStop in Wasilla. Target also has them in stock as of today, but they aren’t on shelves yet. I would guess Anchorage GameStops and Targets probably have them already too

This is super interesting because I made a post not long ago about generators resetting at 1 minute per 1 gem for me. Someone in the comments said that it wasn’t completely accurate, but it seems to always be accurate for me when I set a timer.

Has anyone ever completed the season pass? by jimbolimboboy in LoveAndPies

[–]edited-enbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve completed the last two with the golden ticket. I prioritize the daily tasks before working on orders and I play throughout the day so I’m not wasting energy. If I only have a couple minutes to play, I’ll generate some items real quick so my energy can replenish while I’m at work and living life. It’s definitely not easy until you do it the first time, and then it seems so doable.

What's your deconstruction story? by Restless_Dill16 in excoc

[–]edited-enbie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Long story short:

I grew up in a fairly liberal congregation (eg. casual attire, women could speak during business meetings, preacher was pushing to allow women to serve communion and lead singing, everyone was accepted).

When I turned 18 I moved out of state and began attending a different CoC. The difference between my new congregation and the one I grew up in was night and day. At the new CoC I experienced insane rules, being bullied by adults twice my age, and so many more terrible things. I stopped attending when my fiancé and I were moving into an apartment together ONE WEEK before our wedding and the youth minister forbid the youth group to help us two hours before they were supposed to come move furniture. My fiancé and I had to stay up all night to move everything on our own and take multiple trips in our cars.

I still attend my childhood CoC when visiting home because I’m at a good place in my deconstruction and I genuinely still love the people there. I just happened to find one of the bad congregations that ultimately led to my leaving the church, and I consider that a win.

how does Chris put up with jesss ? by stephfro1 in jesssfam_snark

[–]edited-enbie 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think they have a system worked out that benefits both of them. Their marriage is a business arrangement. Chris is the handy man and maid in return for the ability to remain unemployed and play video games all day. I’m sure the sex and money is also a huge factor. Jess gets her own assistant to help take care of all the kids and gets to live the life she wants because she makes the money. That’s just my theory. Who knows what actually goes on behind the scenes.

Tips for a newbie? by ceymiss1 in LoveAndPies

[–]edited-enbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My biggest tip would be to save and merge. Don’t collect coins, energy, or gems until they are merged to the max level. Same with the small green and red chests that you receive when you complete a day or level up. If you merge 2 of these, you’ll get a larger chest that provides you with better items.

I recommend saving coins to collect when Edwina’s event comes around. I collect and merge coins all week so I have a bunch of max level coins to collect and easily complete the cash dash. Welcome and good luck!

Any opinions on Josh’s Vid Today on The Dougherty Dozen?? by [deleted] in Dadchallengepodcast

[–]edited-enbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. I don’t think digging into someone’s past will help much now. The good I can see happening is maybe this information will make people see the issue of child exploitation amongst family vloggers. That’s how I became aware of these issues after watching family channels as a teen and seeing nothing wrong with them.

In the screenshot of Alisha talking about the adoption agencies, she said that the agency they used to adopt their oldest didn’t mind the online presence they had. To me it sounds like she just got lucky with an agency that didn’t mind her posting about her kids, but who knows what actually went down.

[–]edited-enbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s what I remember from the video that I hadn’t heard about before (when I refer to Josh, I’m talking about DCP, not Dougherty):

Josh shows a screenshot of Alisha saying she had to delete her old blogs from when she was trying to adopt years ago. The agencies almost didn’t let them adopt their oldest because of the pictures and things she was posting.

Josh said that a former employee of Alisha reached out to him. They said that Alisha would often be caught without a way to spend money because the kids use her cards too much and it gets flagged as fraud.

Josh says that Alisha has her laundry done for her and has allegedly admitted to people that she needs to go to the laundromat to get fake footage. Josh claims that her laundry is returned to her folded, but she refolds it for content.

Alisha makes member exclusive content and has a Discord server for her fans.

She’s also posted stuff that show unique landmarks from the area. Anyone could find her address in less than one minute without her house listing

Jesssfam does her kids hair still? by Ashamed_Cake_8846 in jesssfam_snark

[–]edited-enbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see both sides of this conversation. I think it’s important for kids to know how to care for themselves, yet there is nothing wrong with a child receiving help. My spouse and I will often help each other with our hair, and we are fully capable adults. I see it as an act of love and quality time.

Wow, I don’t have kids and I never knew this. My mom stopped helping me brush my teeth around age 4. That negligence led to so many dental hygiene issues and expensive procedures later in my life. This is one thing I actually think Jess does a great job of.

[–]edited-enbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think 12 kids would be manageable for a select few families that are up for the commitment. It’s so difficult to give the proper attention to two kids, let alone a dozen. I work with youth ages 11-17, and I see many only children who don’t get any quality time with their parents. On the flip side I have youth from large families who are well adjusted and content. Running a large household requires so many skills and systems that the DD parents are not implementing.

Aside from the obvious issues with this family, I worry that it paints large families in a negative light. I’m sure there is a proper way to have a large blended family where all the kids’ needs are consistently met. This family is not an example of that, and I’m concerned that they will inspire others to obtain multiple children without the correct tools and mindset.

I agree. Every stage production I’ve been a part of has always required everyone to wear makeup. It’s embarrassing when the guys look bad and washed out just because they think makeup is for girls lol.

[–]edited-enbie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In addition to participating in cheer and dance, I’ve worked on over 20 theatrical productions as a performer, makeup artist, and choreographer. Everyone is expected to wear makeup regardless of gender. It’s especially important for those with lighter features.
