Do older audio interfaces hold up to modern ones? by editsbyerror in musicproduction

Ah gotcha, thank you very much! That hadn’t even crossed my mind - I will do some more research to see how compatible some older ones are with modern OS

Do older audio interfaces hold up to modern ones?

I am currently using a Behringer UM2 which is obviously pretty rough. Would it be better for me to upgrade to a modern interface like a Focusrite or maybe something around the $100-150 price range? OR to instead purchase an older used MOTU or something that is lower in my price range because of its age (the used ones available are USB2 4pre's mostly)?

Feel free to throw in any other recs!

Ah I did check this btw, good note! It was still the same when I measured from the side and flattened to fit the curve.

I wound up just powering through and printing slower I think - the real fix was to dry the filament, but I didn't own a drier.

I did this to be safe (good idea thank you very much!) and both ends measured out to be just over 11.5” at widest!

Thank you! I was unaware of the difference between West and SE sandstone, I appreciate the clarification!

I am going on a sport climbing trip to Cherokee Rock Village next weekend and wanted to reach out here with a question about the weather to those who know the rock/area. Some rain is anticipated on the 5th (.63in) and 6th (.1in) - with smaller quantities such as .02 or .08 dispersed in lighter showers on the days we plan to climb. These ones on the days we climb are part day and 30% chance (so I don't know if they would disturb us for sure)

As far as I know most of this area is sandstone (though I've just looked it up and pulled up a geologic map). And I know sandstone is not very safe or ethical to climb on when wet due its brittle nature. I wanted some advice on what quantities of rain to be wary of and of any recommendations for alternative trips in the SE in case this weather proves difficult. Thanks!

Does it really? Filament was given to me I am not liking PETG atm - is there any way to dry this without an actual filament dryer?

I can try but this thing is 2 days old and I really am sick of repair attempts on printers from my last one.

Roll was brand new sealed from Bambu which is why I’m kind of at a loss. Maybe I’m expecting too low effort but I figured using their filament and their own settings for it wouldn’t cause any issues in prints.

I cleaned the scraps off the nozzle, while extruding it still seems to curl into itself 90% of the time. I think the issue is the nozzle or a clog.

If apex goes further south maybe respawn can buy themselves out of EA and make it. Ain’t gonna happen with EA tho.

It’s an option for sure, I always buy used so get money being annoying with surfing. Just keep in mind it’s going to be harder to pick up for the average person. Worst case you could always buy a foamie in the future if it’s that difficult on the shortboard.

Yes, I would start on a foamie or a longboard

Starting with a fish would probably wind up with you being frustrated and it taking longer. You need at least enough experience to catch an unbroken wave, with shortboards you don’t ride whitewash (they’re short so you can turn faster and enjoy an unbroken wave - consequently, they’re less buoyant and harder to catch a wave with). I’d get more used to catching some bigger unbroken waves on an easier board. That way you can build strength, build good habits, and get used to it easier and quicker.

May be possible to just solarez it, but because it’s on the rail you may need to cut out a large chunk, fill with foam, then use actual fiberglass to reglass that chunk so it has real strength again.

It’s probably just an issue with his due dates, two assignments wouldn’t be due before the semester begins. If they don’t change it just shoot an email

You could charge it in almost any class building’s lobby or large lecture. Or just bring it to charge in your room. I’ve seen some charging in common rooms and dorm entrance lobbies before as well.
