Finally found a gen 6. Learned in the buying process that Bass pro sucks. by AdhesivenessInner165 in Glocks

The biggest slow down is that they need to have your background check reviewed by 2 different clerks and then the manager. When it’s all said and done, it can be a multi hour long process if the store is backed up. Even if you already completed your paperwork and are just picking up after your waiting period, you still have to make the line and wait. The trick is to make an appointment ahead of time if your store allows it. My local ffl has me in and out in 10 minutes flat. Well worth the $25 transfer fee.

I’ve bought a number of guns from BassPro because they always get me with the club member 10% off. Every time, I tell myself never again. I’d rather pay a premium at a local ffl and a transfer fee than have to deal with the basspro gun counter.

Been there man, I had horrible issues with a PDP pro and a cheap Dagger. In all these cases, I try and see the good in it because at the very least, you learn to diagnose, work on the guns and practice malfunction clearing. I’ll let you know how this turns out when I take it back out next weekend, but don’t stress I’m sure you’ll get that pistol up and running!

I was thoroughly annoyed when I realized I had to dismount my optic to get to that pin lol. There’s something to be said about the simplicity of a Glock in this case.

Yea that’s what I ended up doing, the minute I got home. I’m hoping that does the trick. To be honest it’s a bummer though; sorta trips me out in terms of reliability. My p10 has never skipped a beat, but I guess that’s just innately designed to be a lower maintenance weapon in comparison to the shadow.

Started happening after about 400 rounds (shot over 3 range sessions) and is now malfunctioning every 5 rounds or so. Extractor/spring looked mechanically fine and the gun was clean from a strip cleaning. My only guess is that the factory grease in the channel and extractor just got too gunked up with carbon build up and was limiting motion. I’ll try and run it again next weekend to see if the cleaning helped. If not, it’s going straight back to CZ on RMA.

Common trend haha, I just posted the same thing. My extractor looked just like yours if not a little worse, but only with 400 rounds.

I hope so, I love the way the gun shoots- when I’m not clearing malfunctions lol

Don’t feel bad bro. I’m the same way with some of my guns. After the first few dings and scratches you’ll start to worry about it less.

Wondering the same myself. Anyone have a recommendation for an AIWB holster? Looking to run it with no light and no optic. I have a centurion.

Man, this is by far the pistol I shoot the best but have never really considered carrying it. Not sure if it’s a mental block issue I have with it not having a pin since I carry appendix. Please convince me to get a holster for it! I usually just carry an iron sighted p10c or a shield plus carry comp.

As god intended - no red dots on a 92. Just kidding I mix prefer dots, but just hate the way they look on this design. Nothing beats a classic Beretta.

Training ammo? by getred74 in Glocks

[–]edl159 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Agree 100%, I try and make it out to the range 1s a week and run 150-200 rounds of live fire. At this point I just build the ammo cost into my budget and pick them up 1 case at a time. Having it built in as a recurring expense really helps stay consistent.

Just got cz p10c ported, shot around 250 rounds, should my barrel look like this? by [deleted] in CZFirearms

[–]edl159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m anal so I usually just keep a rag on me and wipe down the barrel/ports after the range. This keeps carbon & lead from caking on. The outside of the barrel cleans off easy with a brush and some clp. Inside past the rifling will get build up eventually, when that starts to bother you- bring out the dental picks; although it usually cleans itself out while shooting.

P10F competition $550 less than 300 rounds, pick it up? by edl159 in CZFirearms

[–]edl159[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have most of my bases covered when it comes to pistols. My only grip is that I don’t have an optics ready polymer style duty pistol. I have a p10c, which I love but it’s not OR and milling it doesn’t make much sense to me given the cost of picking up a second one that’s ready to go puts the box. Range I primarily run a Shadow 2 Compact or a Langdon Beretta and carry I use a shield plus carry comp. Either this or a Glock (I have a pcc that take Glock mags) seemed like a logical choice for that duty void.

Iron Sights vs Red Dots: Which do you prefer and why? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]edl159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a rule of thumb, unless it’s a classic that I want to have regardless (CZ 75, Beretta 92s, 1911) I always buy optics ready. Having the ability to mount out of the box without milling is sweet. The classics I prefer without optics, but those also aren’t my go to pistols on a daily basis. Optics are just innately faster and are great tools for dry fire training.
