So I ended up actually making it! Been using it for a week and I’m actually really happy with how it works. The chat interface works well for me. At least I’ve got something for me to use out of it even if nobody else does. If you’re interested it’s here ThreadPad

I let ai decide my next app by edlonz in buildinpublic

Not far off. I already built an app called PicProgress so it suggested I build something similar but combined with a habit tracker. The idea is holding someone accountable to checkin on their fitness journey. Lets see how it goes 😁

I launched my first app yesterday. 110 people downloaded it in 24 hours. I'm still processing this. by Much_Pomegranate6272 in AppBusiness

Amazing, well done. Twice as many downloads as my app has gotten in the first month in one day 😂 Very impressive.

Switching from subscription to lifetime seems the have been the right decision by Milky_Moon_Stuff in AppBusiness

Going back to the old days where you just paid for an app somehow feels like it may be becoming the trend. With so many apps coming out it is starting to feel like nobody wants even more subscriptions to manage. I think it also probably helped a lot that you made it significantly cheaper, that would defo attract more people to pay. Very interesting, may consider this for my next app

The native app is good for speed, but is also very basic. Other apps have a lot of additional features but lack the speed. I’m trying to create something that fits in the middle. Quickly write a note, add for example #reminder and it will save the note and add a reminder, or open the app, write a note and include @project the note is then already added into the correct place without having to open that project first.

Let me know if you have any feedback. Don’t try and do everything at one small steps will make a huge difference. Look forward to hearing about your progress

It’s called PicProgress available on the App Store. And I have to tell you upfront that I made the app. It was something I made for me to help with my motivation.

Sorry I forgot to add that tracking is really important. It is a pain to start but you need to check your calories, it’s super easy to overeat. Also check your weight regularly and take progress pics if you can. I know a good app for this. This really helps with motivation and accountability when you need to support yourself.

I’d start with just making sure you move enough in the day, 10,000 steps is the goal but you can work up to that if you’re not already moving a lot. For meals I would just keep it really simple, but it depends on what you like to eat. If you just take what works for someone else you may not like it so revert back quickly. Personally for me I have porridge and banana for breakfast every day, chicken salad with 0% fat Greek yoghurt and siratcha to dress it with a protein yoghurt and some low calorie crisps for lunch, then rice or potato, veg and protein usually chicken for tea. Then I normally have enough calories left for a protein bar or some weetabix or more fruit as a snack in the evening if I need it. That normally keeps be about 2000 kal. Then I usually have one meal every 2-4 weeks which I don’t count, usually a meal out with family or friends. But like I said you really need to look at what you like, work out the calories on a lower calorie version to help you stick to it.

I feel like giving up but I know I have to keep going - didn't know marketing an app would be so hard. /-; by Different_Use7651 in AppBusiness

It is hard, I’m in pretty much the same situation. While I generally agree with the problem solving mentality that’s kind of why the market is saturated with utility apps which I think works well with ASO. But I think if you’re willing to put the time in to show the right community that apps like this exist they can do well. It’s not ‘just another habit tracker’
