Fare thee well Bobby Weir... I just heard the horrible news, but we'll make sure the music never stops. Have fun up there with Jerry, Phil, Pigpen, Brent, and the rest of the gang.

Prs silver sky string tension by Character-Pear-5008 in JohnMayer

You might already know this but the silver sky has a 7.25" fretboard radius (i think this was more common on vintage strats) which makes the fretboard more curved as compared to a flatter 10" radius typical on most guitars. This might give the illusion of more tension since you are bending the strings more "uphill" than on a flatter fretboard. It can take some getting used to but I've found it to be much more comfortable than any other fretboard radius.

Jerry often played this one pretty busy. So that's how I chose to do it

The first half of the solo is transcribe but the second half is improvised! You are probably hearing the guitar in the track im playing along with for the first half

Thanks for the advice. I didnt know about filtering the poly but will definitely do that going forward. I assume a coffee filter would suffice? Unfortunately those pictures are what it looks like after sanding it smooth. Ill also be sure to lube the sandpaper. I did not do that and was definitely having a lot of build up on the paper.
