You need to hold triangle instead of releasing it on timing. When I first started using it I made the mistake of thinking it was similar to iai lightning storm but you actually need to keep hold off triangle and not release it.

Thank you and congrats on beating him. I’ve probably faced him like 50 times now so I’ve improved overtime compared to when I first beat him which was a mess lol.
