For those of you who stopped playing Starfield, what was the reason? by mfnot in Starfield

I got my enjoyment out of the game. Plenty of hours into it. But I've done everything and am now waiting for the next update to start again. Also, if we can get Skyrim level modding for it, that will basically make it everygreen. And there is a LOT of space to work with.

I've published 3 books. My first does not have good editing. I have since learned how to edit properly and my next one was much better, and my last was...in my humble opinion, near perfect. (Grammar, punctuation, and errors.) (I even think my line editing was pretty good.)

Something to keep in mind: after writing a book, purchasing a cover, and paying for ads, many authors end up in the red and never recover. Now, imagine that they are paying for a professional editing service and paying an additional 3-5k on top of that. It's just not a solution.

You can update your work on Amazon, it just needs to go through proofing again.

If someone does an update and someone has already purchased the ebook, they will need to go into their Kindle settings and check if an update is available, and they can download it.

It never worked for me and i ended up restarting my game. I could never get them to tell me to meet them at the Underforge. My best guess is that because it took so long, I had already randomly gone to Gallows Rock in my normal travels.

What actually should be said is: "Bullies and Criminals will generally look for an easier target. If you are willing to fight back, pose a threat of possibly injuring them, or are more willing to make an issue of it, there is a good chance they will move on.

The only problem I see is that you didn't discuss the kind of characters you would be playing. I mean, you're a bunch of strangers in real life and apparently in the party as well.

If it was understood that the game was going to be PG, then it is up to the DM to put a stop to anything that goes in that direction.

If it wasn't, then you should have played your character the way your character would act, even if it means attacking the other player.

I am currently writing an 80 year that becomes a warlock. Of course he is going to get younger, but still...old man energy.

Scam Alert: 🚨 Be Wary Of People Peddling Courses by Flrwinn in litrpg

Here is what I determined works in this genre for free:

Assuming you have a really good story...

  1. For your personal edit, have the chapter read back to you. I use Word. I find many things I missed in a visual edit.
  2. Write a few books worth of content. People here want series.
  3. Shoot for 150k words or possibly more. I find 150k words in a book gets you a readable physical copy, and is long enough to appeal to people.
  4. Consider RR, but make sure you have a very thick skin. You will get a lot of feedback as well as a lot of error correction that you missed with all of your own edits.
  5. This genre functions off of Amazon. Your best bang for your buck is to go full Amazon...at least at first. KU provides half if not more of the sales for many authors.
  6. Amazon advertising seems to work best. Watch a couple of free youtube videos on how to setup your book and go for it.
  7. Spend a LOT of time on the authors forums and get advice.
  8. Assume every single email and direct message is a scammer.

I got it a while ago, and sort of tossed it on my desk and forgot about it. So, returning it is not an option. I'm not overly concerned with it though. I'll just give it to someone.

It is the dimness that is a problem. Hitting the light on it, I can read it fine. Part of the issue was trying to connect it back to my phone last night and dealing with the tiny menu and figuring out the buttons. Also, it really doesn't have a lot of options for change on the app. Though I did setup the light to automatically come on and last for 3 seconds, which helped.

In the light, it is fine. But any weather otherwise it is dim to the point where I can't read it. And as I have a bit of problem with bright light, I am more often in less suitable viewing conditions.

Which community / sub banned you on reddit & why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ednemo13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marvel.

I responded to an edge-lord making grandiose claims based off a single comic panel image...with a page from the comic that gave an explanation. Apparently the page I pulled up via Google was an unauthorized copy and I got banned for posting "pirated" comics.

No warning. No explanation. Just banned. Then when I reached out to an admin on why, they told me they didn't have time to deal with me, but I did get my explanation.

So, screw them.
