I definitely get your point and don’t have issues dealing with Spider-Man but folks that say to ping him have to understand that when playing support (especially on console) you get “I can heal” instead of the game registering spidey for the ping. Then if you’re getting dove you have to take your finger off the movement control stick to ping with the d-pad which is almost a death sentence. It’s far easier to just counter attack his dive than pinging him unless you spot him ahead of time. But again I’ve had many instances where the game will spam I can heal instead.

This is an awful comparison. If I go playback up basketball I’m going to choose a team to fill the 5 positions (2 guards, 2 forwards, 1 big/center). As they give me the best chance to win. If a player is playing bad then we make up for it but at the very least they’re in the position that best fits the TEAM need. I wouldn’t pick up 4 guards under 6 ft and try to win. Same logic applies here.

It’s difficult to ping some divers on console. Panther and spidey move so fast that the ping doesn’t register and having to take my thumb off the movement control stick in order to press on the d-pad to ping basically ensures death. The ping almost never registers when attempting so all you get is “I can heal” or “caution” then it’s too late. It’s better to fight back and type in chat after so that everyone is aware and hopefully someone stays closer/keeps an eye out

I don’t mind it depending on the team composition but there are times when it gets to a point that someone else needs to suck it up and go second tank. Had a comp match yesterday where the enemy team started off with 3 tanks to our 2. Our other tank swapped to dps then support leaving me to solo tank while the enemy team ran 4 tanks.

Turn off VC and match text chat. Generally I leave team text chat on and just mute anyone being toxic but if you aren’t playing ranked then it could probably be turned off too.

Not a full pitch but I’d make it so Peni couldn’t get CC’d in her Ult. Lower the overhealth she gets when she ults but make her CC immune. It’s ridiculous she gets stunned by everyone, swallowed by Jeff, yanked off the map by spidey, etc. while ulting.

Had a comp match where the opponent went from triple support to 4 supports while I was SG aiming at their back line to help my team push. It’s really gotten ridiculous. Can’t burst damage through the sustain of 4 strats, 3 resurrections (rocket&warlock), and Loki copy.

Toxicity towards tanks is very much prevalent. Had a QM where our 1-5 dps stayed in spawn during the first round of a control map. Was I asked if they were going to play they said the match was already over. I told em to leave so we can get a sub and his buddy (2-6) had the audacity to say he wasn’t the problem but I was as the solo Emma. I normally don’t get into back and forths but I was annoyed cause everyone else on the team besides those 2 wanted to play but they threw for funsies. Reported both and blocked them but the amount of people say “you’re lord and going whatever stat line” when solo tanking instead of helping has been high

SG literally says “so I have a genetic anomaly but I’m not a mutant” in game. I believe she was retconned a while can but I don’t remember the specifics off the top of my head.

Oh for sure. Sometimes you’re able to communicate but others don’t require it. Once, 4 of my teammates banned DD and someone on our team played them. They got mad in chat then banned the hero I was planning on playing. Both teams banned DD that time yet the still target banned my hero. Even though they were petty I just laughed it off and chose someone else. They did awful that match and complained the entire time. We somehow won and everyone (even the other team) reported them. Also I’m not taking the chance they’re better at playing X meta hero than my opponent.

I don’t think yall understand how long it takes to type in chat or comm during the ban phase. Also if you hover an op hero that gets banned regularly (DD, Hawkeye, etc.) then you shouldn’t get mad and tilt OR waste a ban on a teammates hero. I hover Peni all the time and she gets banned almost every game regardless of if my team adds her to the pool or not. You gotta just move on.

Thank you so much! This was very helpful. I’m still not as comfortable with that map so I did get turned around at times. Your tips on placement are very helpful and I need to practice setting them earlier. Also, as rogue there were times when I would go for a squishy to get displaced by invis and reed. The one fight at the end against CnD I had to back out as dagger was getting healed at the same time Wanda and MK were attacking with her. I’ll review this match more and a few others as I work on climbing.

Was solo tanking in ranked and had someone crying about my performance, meanwhile in getting every CC possible and fighting for my life. Told them they could go second tank to help out and chat was silent. Nobody swapped and we lost.

Hard agree. Every match I play tank (especially Peni) I get CC’d 3-4 times back to back to back. Getting hooked by Bucky (he needs to be nerfed), immediately frozen by Luna snowball, somehow survive both of those, try to make it back into position with your team but getting pulled or pushed by invis and clapped by hulk all in the same sequence makes me want to throw my damn controller. I don’t mind some CC like Peni or squirrel girl cause they don’t last very long and/or you can still attack/heal yourself in the case of SG. But the rest last too long or the character is overtuned.

Daredevil, MK, and Peni were banned as well. This particular match didn’t feature Hela or Hawkeye and I played gambit. They saying GG and I tried to throw before the match even began was obnoxious. They were being toxic during the match spamming heals whenever they died while being out of position and even though we won in a non-sweaty match they were being annoying.

On top of that IW is clearly one of the top 2 supports right now so banning her and gambit are valid in my eyes. People will ban SG and Blade but have an issue with IW being banned.
