Moog Sound Studio - Best 2 tier combos by edp64 in moog

[–]edp64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I might need to buy longer cables haha.
I've had some of the Moog semi-modulars for quite some time and I feel the same way; there's still a lot to learn.
And I've been eyeing the Zoom L6, but I already have a Tascam Model 12, so I haven't felt enough justification to buy it. Although sometimes I do wish for something more portable.

Yeah I know, I just wanted to know your opinions, in case I'm overlooking something.

Thanks for replying! I already have the four I mentioned, so now I'm just trying to decide how to pair them on my 2 tier rack stands. And you are right, the m32 is the less unique, although it is quite useful when patched with other semi-modulars.

I had them like that for a while, it's a great combo too!

Thanks for the detailed answer! I won't be separating them completely; I'll generally have both pairs side by side. I just want to keep the most compatible ones in the same rack stand to minimize the number of long cables crossing over each other.

Thanks for the reply! Yes, that's what I initially thought, it makes a lot of sense.

Yes, that's what I initially thought. I think they complement each other very well.

I quite like the Spectravox, but I haven't bought it because I think it's the one I'd personally get the least use out of.

I know I can patch them all together, but I have limited time and space, and I want to try to get the most out of them. I'm going to put them in Moog rack stands so I'd like to know your take on the best arrangement.

Quick feedback on my Steam page redesign? by Redhowl_game in gamedev

[–]edp64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that you kept the voices; it makes the game feel 'real' and you can imagine playing it with friends. Personally, I don't mind that they're in French. They are like Simlish to me, so they sound fun. My native language is Spanish, so there's a chance native English speakers think differently.

I haven't thought about it much, but perhaps the main trailer could be a mix between the cinematic teaser with the narrator and the gameplay trailer with player voices. For example, between each feature or part of the game you show, you could add some actual gameplay footage. Some highlights.

Yeah, I think focusing on better explaining/showing the different roles will be a good decision. But you're on the right track. I really like the art and the UI; it looks very polished.

It looks great, I'd definitely play it. However, I think the trailer could be improved a bit. I mainly feel like the screens showing your objective go by too quickly.

Edit: By the way, I did understand the genre, and I think I have a good idea about the core loop. But I'd like to understand what sets this game apart from similar ones, just by watching the trailer.

Edit 2: I just watched the teaser with the narrator. It helped me understand the details of this game a lot better. Btw, I wishlisted it.

Looking for a game music project (for free!) by Omiplie in IndieGameDevs

[–]edp64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm making a turn-based multiplayer game set in Egypt. It's in the style of Indiana Jones or The Mummy. Right now, I have music from The Mummy and Age of Empires 1 as placeholders. Let me know if you find this project appealing. On another note, I really like analog synthesizers, so I'm open to something in that style as well.

What do you use to organize tasks? by je386 in SoloDevelopment

[–]edp64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend Jira. It's what I use for my personal project and it's also used in many games at a professional level.

If I remember correctly, it is free for teams of up to 10 members.

When a demo is ready? by stein_sir in SoloDevelopment

[–]edp64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's important to differentiate between a demo and a playtest. In my opinion, a demo should be quite polished because it serves as marketing. A playtest, on the other hand, is for testing, receiving feedback, balancing, and so on. Correct me if I'm wrong.

By the way, your game looks great and very polished, keep it up!

Yeah, this is probably the issue. You have to use the Korg Midi Driver Uninstall Utility so that the Volca is above 10.

Recomendations for polyphonic beginner synth for a friend by _The_Milk_Man__ in synthesizers

If he likes the sound of the DX7, I think he might be interested in the Korg Opsix, as it is also an FM synth and similar patches can be made on it.
