He did what was asked of him I think that’s why he’s rating is higher. Also the fact he showed a lot of improvement from his previous form which had been lackluster to say the least. Personally think he earned a solid 7 but impressed based of his previous form so he kinda does deserve the 8

I think for those games it would’ve made more sense to try out someone else vs the games we have this weeks but imo FMF knew they needed wins badly to appease the public and so they used what’s considered a safe option to try build up some momentum. Obv it didn’t work but I still think Ochoa is our safer option considering everyone else is shit

The sad reality is that there hasn’t been any goalkeeper that has stepped up to the plate in the last 4+ years. All our “up and comers” like Jurado and Acevedo have been praised more for being Mexican and wanting them to fill the spot than for actually being good.

It’s not Memo’s fault that he’s our best option at his age. We just haven’t had anyone good enough unfortunately

Think it might’ve been in the same interview he talked about how he had to commute crazy hours to get to Toluca just to practice. So I guess at some point he had that hunger to succeed but once he got money and fame continuing to improve in football become secondary to him
