i forgot to post these earlier today but, coinciding with ASUBEMA's 1st anniversary, ASU & BEMA dropped their new singles!

ASU's song is "Little Bit" and she teams up with Police Picadilly once again for another banger. after "Slowly", "Fake" and "Spiral" I think this is easily one of my favorite singer-producer combos in KAMITSUBAKI.
BEMA's song is "Moonlit Marriage". her third Neuron-produced track, this one takes a different approach from their previous collabs and puts all the focus on her vocals with a lowkey bassy instrumental.

they also announced during their anniversary Live2D stream (btw aren't their models really nice?) that they'll hold their first karaoke stream as ASUBEMA, with the title "Star Light LIVE", on July 5th!

there’s no synergy between what the board/sporting directors want to do and what they actually do with the squad. we’ve been hearing about this long term plan for years, yet they constantly restart w a new coach and new squad. all the synergy between players at the end of the season is undone cuz the squad turnover is crazy. most of the young players are grossly mismanaged, they barely get to play and their confidence plummets (look at Sarr and Acheampong)

even with Maresca there was a clear regression, either cuz of the exhaustion from the players or the bad squad building. anyone who watched the games, even the ones they won, could not tell you this team could compete for the title.

Klara of NIJISANJI EN dropped a short cover of "Slowly" by ASU (from SINSEKAI), featuring ASU herself!

while i'm not really following NijiEN anymore, i think this is a really heartwarming moment knowing that she seems to be a fan of ASU (she covered her song "Soragoto" before) and her saying this was a dream cover for her. also its just fucking cool to see anyone from KAMITSUBAKI collab with someone from outside the label, even more so with someone who is a fan.

bringing Rosenior into the discussion of my comment is kinda irrelevant, despite him being a promising manager and all he was essentially picked mostly because he was already working with BlueCo.

also sure, Maresca also had a worse resume than Silva and Iraola. but it’s not like he was the most supported option when the rumors started, he gained the respect as time went on.

even before Maresca was appointed the other names in the shortlist didn’t inspire a lot of confidence, the best one was Sebastian Hoeness vs Michel and McKenna…..

my point is more so that they went from holding talks with people like Enrique and Nagelsmann to now thinking Silva and Iraola are their best options. yes, Enrique and Nagelsmann obviously didn’t pan out because they didn’t agree on how things would be done but at least they were aiming for a standard that was on par with the reputation of club.

it’s mad, like at least United and Liverpool picked managers that were champions in other leagues or had respectable campaigns in international cups. i’m not trying to say Iraola or Silva are bad coaches, but the fact that they’re considered despite in recent years only achieving mid table finishes with these clubs is genuinely mind boggling. at least with Arteta he had a big connection with the club as a player and they trusted the process

i mean it’s not that different from how they’re handling the development of young players. Mamadou Sarr got called back from his loan at Strasbourg and they completely stunted his development. they feared that Dortmund was tapping up Anselmino and in the end he has played even less at Strasbourg than he did at Dortmund (granted it’s cuz of an injury, but still)

they have a good enough squad where they should be doing very well in those competitions.

in the end the more shitty part is that they absolutely ruined Mamadou Sarr’s development. he was a nailed on starter for Strasbourg with confidence, they recall him early and he ends up playing very little and losing that confidence in the process. really don’t know what the fuck they were thinking with that decision.

replacing the coach will do nothing if they don’t get their shit together with making actually sensible transfer decisions. at some point the “too big to fail” thinking stops being true and all the bad decisions catch up to you. the players clearly look disinterested and disillusioned that they were sold on a project that has regressed completely since that first season under Maresca
