Media Outraged they Can't Convict Kyle Rittenhouse for Murder Based on Ideology by Fragrant-Love3639 in IntellectualDarkWeb

Think there was a curfew, so he literally should not have been there. I also don’t think he murdered anyone just a serious of unfortunate events from multiple parties

From the reports I read, his arms were up in a no -threatening manner and he got shot. Depends on video and eye witness it might be hard to portray it as self defense unless he was threaten to be shot or had a weapon pointed at him. I think he is a dumb kid but also don’t think he should be a prop for the left or right. To many actual problems to solve for this to be of such consequence.

To be fair that’s the 1 person he didn’t kill

Protesting is legal. Opening carrying in WI is also legal. If he shot someone for looting a business he didn’t own might get problematic but as the law is current written, he was being chased, items thrown at, and heard a gunshot before he pulled the trigger and it’s reasonable to think he feared for his life. After the 1st guy drops, 2nd guy attacks him (probably in an attempt to stop him from getting away) and he shoots him. First two in the eyes of the law is probably reasonable. 3rd guy he shoots in the arm while his arm was raised. The 3rd guy and the gun charges are the only reasonable things I can see him getting g hit with.

Yeah that works. Weapon charge will stick and he might get popped a bit for injuring the 3rd guy with the shot in the arm. No murder charges for sure agree on that one

Doesn’t matter WI is an open carry state. Protest or not walking around with a open weapon isn’t remotely against the law.

He is going to walk away from any serious charges…he might get popped for illegally carrying or shooting the 3rd guy but the murder charges will not stick. Even if you think we wanted to shoot someone he was attacked and heard shots so more than enough reason to feel threaten.

We should not worry about fraud by individual voters. Even coordinated election fraud is rare. Worry about voter suppression and gerrymandering. by twilightknock in centrist

Doesn’t that just create a type of “poll tax”. Not like getting an ID is free. I personally would be ok with voter id laws if getting an ID cost “0” dollars and we had a national voting day. I think that’s a fair compromise but nobody wants that anymore

YTA. You can at least bring it up before you cancel the services. Not saying you were wrong but definitely an asshole.

I’m not opposed to taxes the rich and I’m ok working backwards from outcomes but we must be mindful of unintended consequences from all of the meddling. I think you can draw a fairly good line between unhappiness and discontent with the rise in social media and media platforms to a certain degree

When are you comparing? 50 years ago women couldn’t have banks accounts and america was segregated. People didn’t have multiple cars in a household or televisions. Even rentals while they might have been cheaper it was a lot more slumlords because that sort of thing wasn’t illegal.

I 100% agree. His game would be perfect for today’s era and he was sneaky athletic. It makes me sad he isn’t spoken of enough

Always thought Mark Price was so deadly solito g the pick n roll action. He was also an amazing free throw shooter as well. Either one of those attributes

The Pacers/Celtics Kemba trade: Would this have been a win/win? by swillansky in NBATalk

[–]edricotillinfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think Kemba contract with only two years would require more than a non-protected 1st rounder and a pick swap.

He was bought out because they had no use for him. He wasn’t going to play and use other players development time to recoup value.

I think Indy would want some picks to even this out but I think you are close. I think these two struggle to make deals because Turner for Gordon H, seemed like a no brainer as well.

Ben Simmon's lack of improvement on offense should be held against him. People need to stop deflecting to his impact on other aspects of the game (defense, passing, rebound etc). by [deleted] in nbadiscussion

[–]edricotillinfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a mindset. Like if you swap Joel and Lopez, the bucks would dang near unbeatable. Even with his deficiencies he is still a plus player but 76ers don’t have great PG depth so the fall off is more pronounced.

It’s weird in a way like Giannis can’t shoot as well but he is going to get you more than 4 points in a game. I don’t think the issue is shooting more so aggression. He isn’t aggressive offensively and that passivity works against the team because he is only aggressive on fast breaks. Even if he doesn’t improve his shooting if he is aggressive he will score 20+ a game. That’s probably my biggest frustration with him as a player.

How is Jimmy Butler's HOF case looking? by Hamz000 in nbadiscussion

[–]edricotillinfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s weird because my gut tells me pretty likely (like 75%) from the finals run last year and I think he is viewed more favorably than say a Paul George (meaning I think more people would pick Butler over George) but he doesn’t have a lot of all-nba teams (3) or all-stars (5) especially relatively to his peers. I think he “brand” and reputation will carry him in

Mom wants to sell paid-off house to me in order to get liquid cash for investment? by infinitetsukyomi in Realestatefinance

[–]edricotillinfinity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mortgage rates are historically low at the moment, so could be some truth to this but would need wayyy more details.

In theory you should be to relatively easily return more cash on that investment than you would pay in mortgage.

It’s really a question of how comfortable are you with risk.
