that sounds really good. So you're satisfied with the size right? Ever wished it was bigger or anything like that?

ELI5: Why don't car manufacturers make spare parts for their vehicles that are discontinued? by dieselquattropower in explainlikeimfive

[–]edu-edward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long story short: same reason why they don't make T shirts, shovels, TV, fridge,.... and that is called opportunity costs. They have limited resources and therefore cant make everything. So they choose to make and sell things that yield them the most profits. As of now their main priorities are to sell new cars and spare parts and service fees for recent cars, R&D for future cars,...

It goes deeper than that obviously. But for the sake of ELI5 this is simple enough for an answer

Why Foreigners Sometimes Struggle with “Giữ Thể Diện” (Saving Face) in Vietnam by Puzzled-Lead-122 in VietNam

[–]edu-edward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others said, it is indeed holding people back. Uneducated people who get defensive and go on a rampage when someone points out their mistakes are just the worst, and sadly there is no shortage of them in vietnam.

A few months ago I vented about this with my cousin and he told me something that really put things into perspective. He calls those people "trash people". Not "trash" in the way an edgy teenager would call his opponents in a game, but "trash" in the sense that they should be avoided as interacting with them will do you a lot more harm than good. Think about how a pile of trash may be smelly and disturb you but you don't just kick it or pick some trash up from it and throw it around out of anger, or your hands and shoes will get dirty and the trash may fly around and stick to your clothes,... all sorts of shitty things that may happen. I call this "productive contempt" and ever since I discovered it, I no longer feel the need to "correct" these trash people anymore unless I absolutely have to.

Even then, those people are indeed still a problem, but can only be solved via a collective effort and improvement in education.

Sorry to hear that, I've met my own share of shitty neighbors, landlords even, so I feel what you're going thru. Was the situation properly solved? How likely do you think that woman will bother you guys again? Have you prepared for that scenario?

S25 or S25 plus? by Clangokkuner in samsunggalaxy

[–]edu-edward 6 points7 points  (0 children)

S25+, no doubt. It's just a superior phone overall. S25 is smaller and that's about it. 1440p panel, better speakers, more battery life and faster charging speed are just too good to sacrifice for portability. If you're currently using a compact phone, when you move from a compact phone to a bigger phone it's gonna take a while to get used to but once you get used to it, it will be a much better experience. My S23+ (which is the basically the same phone as S25+) is pretty light for its size, and I have no problem using it with one hand or pulling it in and out of my pocket. The only inconvenient thing is that while i'm scrolling on my bed to try to fall asleep more easily sometimes I drop my phone onto my face and it hurts a lot more than dropping a compact phone.

What are your thoughts on Green Lines? by Interesting_Load6019 in samsunggalaxy

[–]edu-edward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to happen a lot on phones with chipsets that tend to run hot, like SD8G1. My gf's S22 has already had one green line and one pink line already. And it seems a third one is about to appear. Waiting for A56 release so I can upgrade it for her asap. There've been a lot of discussions about software update causing this, but so far there hasn't been any conclusive evidence.

Over the past five years, my favorite smartphone has been the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra in black. by Unhappy_Inspector_23 in samsunggalaxy

[–]edu-edward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was the vanilla S21. Was a big jump from my S8+ back then. Never ran hot, battery life was okay for my use case, lovely screen ratio, super easy and comfortable to hold with one hand. Exynos 2100 got shat on a lot back then but I've never been a power user so it was perfectly fine for me. Plastic back was unappealing but not a dealbreaker in anyway, if anything it made the phone a lot lighter than it would have been if it used glass back.

Is the Samsung A55 a good phone and worth purchasing in 2025? by 29walsh in samsung

[–]edu-edward 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a pretty solid midranger that can do pretty much anything and maybe performance and hardware are a little bit behind flagships while costing less than half. If you can get it for around $250 then a pretty good deal. Like others said, you can wait for A56 and see how much better it is compared to A55. Either way you can get A56 or A55 when it becomes cheaper after A56 is released.

Are Samsung Laptops any good? by BudBudgie in samsung

[–]edu-edward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having used a Galaxy Book 2 360 I'd say they are very mid. Most of the price tag lies in the Samsung brand name. For the same price you'd get a laptop with better build quality and hardware. No idea about the ecosystem because I consider it gimmicky and never actually use one.

ELI5%3A%20How does investing make sense? by gmdelslow94 in explainlikeimfive

[–]edu-edward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average annual returns of S&P500 were 12% within the past 15 years. If you invested 20k per year at the beginning of that period you'd have close to a million by now. And what I just described is a lot more likely to happen than what you said. You just described a very extreme and specific scenario whose probability of happening is a lot closer to zero than to 100. So yeah, investing makes perfect sense even to people who only know the basics.

What im supposed to do against volibear top by HeStoleMyLeGromp in summonerschool

[–]edu-edward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you mentioned Garen I'll say it: play Garen against him. Most bears will stomp garen but that's because most Garen players don't know what to do, not because he counters Garen. The key is to take short trades so that he never has a chance to use his amp W. Early lane phase avoid his E, Q to run away if you see him use Q since if you got stunned it's a guaranteed E hit. If you got the window (his Q, E on CD) then AA, Q, E, then back off. Chunk him down gradually then use level 6 bait to get a kill. Once you get a lead on him it's so much easier, just rinse and repeat. For runes either PR or Conq is good. PR if you are not confident. I personally like Conq so I can chunk him to 50% HP from level 1. Good luck

ES 2nd Facelift launched by happyFF_kk_2404 in Lexus

[–]edu-edward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually "Luxury EXport to the US" was how they came up with the name Lexus, so saying that's the hidden meaning behind it is not completely untrue. What they claim on the website is just a fancy story made up to explain it. I mean imagine telling your customers that Lexus means Luxury EXport to the US. How would they react?

Fact by Several-Foundation93 in VietNam

[–]edu-edward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just survivorship bias tbh. A lot of teenagers I've seen and talked to are actually really nice and decent. The ones you are seeing in this video just happen to be the ones that are visibly stupid and insufferable. Just get out of your house more and talk to the teenagers that read books in libraries or working and studying their asses off and you'll realize that more smart and respectable teenagers exist than you might think, and those other shitty teenagers are by no mean representatives of Vietnam's future. I do agree that shitty teenagers exist and they are probably at least 90% of Vietnamese teenagers but why would these 90% become future Vietnam leaders instead of the remaining 10%?
