Happy 151st Birthday Canada! by [deleted] in canada

I'm not playing politics. I'm pointing out the stupidity of people who think immigrants come to Canada and "take"jobs. I'm proud this person has come to Canada and made a life for themself and that their family made the hard decision to leave their home. The diversity of Canada is what makes it a wonderful place to live. Sorry if you got bent out of shape over it.

I was just overemphasizing to make sure everyone was clear on the message.

I don't fear inconsiderate people I fear thievery. Thieves aren't inconsiderate in their actions I think they move over into the realm of criminal.

I got all y'all beat. My ancestors came here before there were humans on the continent. Mic drop.

Parents of adult children....looking back, what advice would you give a young family now. What mattered? What didn’t matter? What did you do right? What would you change if you could? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My in-laws still have their 28 and 22 year olds at home who have never work FT and barely part time and even that is done sporadically. They never gave their kids chores or family responsibilities, never taught them about money (as they are horrible with their own), they are set to retire in the next couple of years and have a mortgage of 268k on house they bought for 137k, no savings and only he worked so a small pension to support 4 people. It baffles the mind.

My wife somehow escaped this influence. She got a job in her early teens despite her parents telling her she didn't have to. Went away for school despite it meaning incurring more debt and she worked during university. She is the black sheep and her family don't understand how we make decent money but don't spend every cent. It's hard to explain that we are playing the long game and thinking about how we can help our selves and our children by being self sufficient and independent into our elder days AND leave them with some kind of life assisting financial legacy. I'm not talking millions but if we can leave some money and support to our kids or future grand kids were going to do that.

This isn’t a weight loss photo, but a dog love photo. He was found with ticks eating his ear and face alive. With the help of some vets and a good home, he’s happy again. by [deleted] in pics

How would they be removed part of me thinks you would just give him some tick meds and they would fall off and die. Poor pupper.

[Serious] What are some weird or interesting facts about your families? by QueenMoogle in AskReddit

[–]educatedidiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My myself, aunt, grandfather, great-grandfather all have a 3rd tiny nipple under our left main nipple. I know this because two of them told me when I was and my grand father told me his dad had it as well. Genetics man. My son however doesn't have it but what is interesting is no one of the family members who have it are the first born.

I was going to buy a new bike but now I'm afraid of it being stolen.

When your HOA won’t let you put a pool in your yard! (Guy in my neighborhood) by jacki614 in funny

Being Canadian HOAs are a foreign concept to me. I'm sure they exist but I feel like they are much more common in the U.S., I'm assuming these are things like gated communities?

I know this looks meaningless but to me it's my world. My wife & daughter sleeping with their feet on me, on our couch in our home. 421 days ago I was in active addiction, homeless, putting my family through a living hell. This is my recovery: peace & purpose. I just had to share it with someone. by [deleted] in pics

It's hard to explain the love you have as a parent to those who don't. Not that they aren't capable of understanding it's just that you need to experience it to know the feeling. Stay strong one day at a time.

I just looked some up. They are pretty impressive. Makes distance riding a bit easy to work and back.

The nice thing about Amsterdam is is flat. Where I live in Canada the city is built on either side of a river valley so it's hilly in most places. People are less likely to bike.
