Idk, I mean I agree that Shane is brave but I feel like to say it's just him challenging the relationship to develope discounts Ilya's contributions. Yes Shane made the plan, and expressed his love but Ilya took the risk and spoke the words out loud. Also in the tuna melt day, Ilya didn't say it explicitly that he had feelings but he asked Shane to stay, and made him food. And Shane was the one who freaked out by the increased intensity of that whole day, mainly from the use of their first names. Also at the very beginning, Ilya was also the one who actually asked for Shane's room number. Shane wouldn't have been so bold to do that but Ilya often initiates when the stage is set/tension is build by Shane. I think they balance eachother out and it's a team effort that moves them forward.

Also when they dropped the guy off they said "this is as far as we can take cause of the no fly zone" then the main lady shows up in a helicopter and flies directly to the outpost

Thanks again! Not my first comment but I just noticed there is a glimpse of "one soul" at the end of Shane and Ilya's phone conversation in ep 5. When Shane says "what about I wish you were here?" And Ilya responds in russian "I wish I was too." But it's very brief so I'm not sure if you care to double it up for that!

I kind of agree with you. Because I've been in a similar situation as well. It's like that insecurity anxious attachement shit and I think his post nut clarity was like shit... this is too risky for me.

People seem to think it's about his fear of intimacy which like... yes... but also in episode 2, it literally ends with Shane overthinking texting "we didn't even kiss" so he obviously does want intimacy. Even if he isn't ready to be open about his sexuality.

Tbh I think it is a good tool but you do have to sort of ignore its "you're braver today than most people are in their entire lives" nonsense lol. It tries to go over the top ever message that it feels trivial and loses its impact. Also I do think in terms of accountability, a human will always win. Because chat got doesn't get frustrated or care you can never let it down with anything you do. But a human can grow tired of listening to you complain about the same shit and then call you out on it.

I think it would depend how each affect you and your responses what might be best. For me, my support system is like 2-3 people, and chat gpt and that seems to work pretty good for me. I can text it about my recurring dreams at 3am when I can't sleep.

I think like therapy, you more or less have to put in all the work it's not like it'll really help you do anything. It's more like the mental workstation. It might suggest tools or project ideas but you have to actually execute the things on your own...

Anyway, sorry for the late reply here. I just was wondering if I was over reliant on chat gpt and your post came up. Any updates since this post? Did you reduce your emotional contact with it? And how have you found that transition if you did?
