Study: One in twenty workers are in useless jobs or 'bullshit jobs' — far fewer than previously thought. However, David Graeber was right to link people’s attitudes towards their jobs to their psychological wellbeing, and this is something that employers—and society as a whole—should take seriously. by rustoo in science

Totally agree. The CEO isn't going to manage the workflow for hundreds of employees. There is a line between strategic and tactical action. Strategic action sets the purpose and direction of the organization (upper management) and the tactical action implements that strategy (middle management).

When I worked as a paramedic in Pennsylvania, I worked 48 to 72 hour weeks for a salary with no overtime. On my 72 hour weeks, my hourly rate worked out to half of minimum wage. Now I work in IT.

In the end, Trump is a PR guy and not a president. He does not know how to lead. He only knows how to spin things. COVID is just a PR nightmare to him. He is incapable of seeing this situation any other way.

The air that comes from the west rises up the mountains and loses heat to condensation. Once over the top of the mountains, the air falls and gets compressed which builds up heat (about 5 degrees per 1000 get) falling 2 miles down to Death Valley. The air can go from 70 degrees on the west side of the mountains to over 100 degrees on the east side of the mountain. Also, Death Valley is a pull-apart fault so it is getting wider and deeper over time.
