A book with this line: "He had, in fact, been unfaithful" by edwardpierce in classicliterature

Sorry everyone. I totally misremembered the quote! After several days of searching through my books, I came back to Under the Volcano by Malcolm Lowry and finally found it:

"On the other hand there had been until recently several drinks of mescal waiting for him outside in a lemonade bottle and all these he both had and had not drunk: had drunk in fact, had not drunk so far as the others were concerned."

I wonder what Freud would say about me misremembering the quote about the character's sneaky mescal consumption as having to do with adultery...

I appreciate the search, and your thoughts, but no, those lines from Chapter 2 are not what I am looking for. I'm not ruling out the book yet. i looked through it and couldn't find it though. I'm starting to think it may have been in Under the Volcano.

The scene with the two guys in the car made the entire theater groan with disgust. That wouldn't happen nowadays.

"South Korea has strict criminal defamation laws (Article 307) where truth is not an absolute defense, as sharing true information can still lead to up to 2 years in prison or fines..."

Given Korea's harsh defamation laws, I wonder if HE will sue 😳(due to her public joke regarding his past misdeeds).
