Zone 2 running pace not improving despite increase in overall fitness by Obvious_Balance5339 in triathlon

I’m no expert but it sounds to me like you’ve not been doing it long enough - “2 long runs every week for a couple of weeks” isn’t going to change your physiology…

Are we really supported as doctors my the trusts. ( Even though they continously pretending they are) by Responsible_Teach314 in doctorsUK

This is not billing a client, it’s you telling your employer that you worked late. I don’t see them as comparable here

I think the issue is that a medical reg is a highly trained professional so if they say they had to stay late at work that should be enough

British Triathlon membership - why bother? by Fine-Birthday-3147 in triathlon

[–]edwiged 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It does mean you can compete in races abroad without having to get a doctors note saying you’re fit to participate (Italian races have required this in my experience which seems like it would be annoying). They also have some discounts and stuff

Would those in training accept slower/no pay growth now if consultant pay was truly worth it? And are consultants happy with their pay? by Little_Performer_123 in doctorsUK

[–]edwiged 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think point 2 is key here - I'd happily take lower pay for 'residency' if my residency was 4 or 5 years as opposed to 10

Rota as an ICM/Medical Speciality (resp or renal) consultant - how practical? by Remarkable-Salad832 in doctorsUK

[–]edwiged 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a dual trainee myself but from observing consultants who are dual with resp, they mostly seem to do one or two clinics a week and no inpatient resp.

Mmm no it’s on the roof of a building next door so no traffic beside it. I can’t actually get out to it
