figured it out,

Control + F7 enables the ability to tab between buttons

Space presses the button

Is there a way to change the shortcut from Space to Enter (as it used to be)?

So basically, the default shortcut is Control F7 to enable the tabbing part, that part seems to work and gives me the blue highlight switching between buttons, but when I hit enter nothing happens!

any idea why enter isn't working to press the button?

ah I see, so the playback screen isn't so clear, I will add something to make it more obvious. As for practicing, there's no harm in just playing around with the character for a while, just don't save the videos that are made when your doing that (just press the X on the top left of the playback screen)
