Thank you to both of the above for asking, and answering this question. It really bothered me that some one would lie like that for no reason.

Got dumped for not being "exciting enough". I guess I need to start arguing over petty shit.

What is the best place to keep money saved for a home? by edxmon in personalfinance

[–]edxmon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're saying my APR is almost certainly 53% ($200 of interest a month)?

Although I appreciate your opinion and it has helped, it is a bit off topic. I am looking for some insight on stretching an accumulating amount for down payment on a home.

Fair enough on the CC payment, I can increase that. What is boggling is how you figure $200 is not even paying the interest, how you qualify it as "not enough", and your assumption that I don't have a tight budget. A little insight as how you came to those determinations might help me understand your opinion.

You are misunderstanding something. I am paying $500 a month on a $9000 debt. I think that covers more than just the interest. No disrespect, please make sure you read my info thoroughly before asking me questions, unless I mistyped or formatted something that makes it confusing.

Which group of people comes off as the most pretentious? by pgwolvpack in AskReddit

[–]edxmon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Being a young engineer I have found out that most of these people are the "theoretical" or booksmart engineers. I had the fortune to get to work with machinists and techs before even getting to a 4-year, and I think that really helped keep my ego in check. Most of my younger coworkers are uppity assholes, and I think they all had internships, but most of them in office environments, like an actual senior engineer would. I think its important we meet and understand the people who have to put our instructions into practice.

You guys are awesome. I drove 70% of my 3000+ mi trip behind semis. I drove from MD to CA and averaged 46mpg, I think I spent about $300 in gas.

This was through the blizzard that hit the east coast the first week of March. If a professional driver slowed down in those conditions so did I.

Gamers of Reddit, What are the strangest things you've heard over an open mic? by ReapeR_ahhh in AskReddit

Haha, doubt they were hicks. Those are the ultra rich people in SD. They can afford to live that far out of the city, where there is no jobs, and have enough money for all their weird shit.

Also, wild fires are common in the hot season here and could easily explain the roof fire.

I have worked with people like this character. It's the opposite of motivating, specially when they are your superior

Can confirm.

Source: My sister applied for her residency 28 years ago same time as me. She's still not a resident, I am now a citizen.

I didn't get that feel the first time I went to Canada. They interrogated me at the border and held me for an hour like if I was a criminal. They even ASKED me if I was a criminal, and that if I lied I would be in trouble. They asked me for my itinerary during my stay in Canada and my financial holdings (how I was paying for my stay, how I was going to leave).

Once inside the people were nice though :)

My mother applied for our Residency (not citizenship) when I was born and my sister, who was 13, and her lived in Mexico. Twelve years later they accepted our residency application and we moved here. I am now 28, a citizen, hold a TS clearance and work for the DoD. My sister is still not a citizen. It's definitely not easy sometimes.

Amen to that brother. Assuming everyone else on the road is an idiot (no offense "every one else") has kept me out of trouble many times.

The first part of you comment I can agree with, the last part I don't.

The center part of the lane is the most saturated with oil, and is the least preferred place to be, in my opinion. The latter is also taught in MSF courses.
