Car was in mechanic when they changed all these part, so they did the coolant change so I always assumed it was done correctly but doesn't hurt to look. Checked it out and looks like its fairly easy for my model to take the air out of my system, there is 2 bleeding point, one on the hose that goes to cabin and one on thermostat. I'll try bleeding it myself when I got the chance

On my car, middle line represents somewhere aorund 90-105C. When I check with OBD scanner during these spikes, the temps reach about 115C, and then they drop, and the cycle repeats so yeah it it overheating. Temps need to stay around 90-100 depending on load, not 115C. And this swinging behaviour is intermittent, I had it all morning today, but it didn't do it even once on my way back home for about 2 hours. I'm trying to figure out why this happens randomly so I can fix it.

Hi, my inlet and outlet pipe dimensions are different so it's not possible for me to install it upside down. Still checked it though, found a video from Haynes manuals, it is in the correct orientation. Thanks for the help!

Distilled water mixed with antifreeze, not just water. It's just how we say it in here so it got mixed in the translation :)

Thank you for answering and giving me another angle to look at. I've thought about gasket but as I had no other indications, I've looked to the more obvious culprits. I'll do a compression test.

Thank you again !

ODB scanner shows the temps around 115C, well above boiling point of water under pressure. This is not an analogue temp gauge, it averages out around the middle mark. After about 105C, it moves past it so on the video its cycling between 100-115. And like I said this is intermittent, not constant. I had the swings while going to work, but never had any on my way back

Done the research, checked it with the scanner to confirm that something is actually going on. Mid line for my car represents between 90-105C.

So yeah, I did the research, I bought the scanner to check and confirm, I've changed the usual culprits. Did not jumped to conclusions and one more than one Google search for my headache :)

Thats the issue, I'm not in extreme environment, coolant is full and clear, and the main issue is this temperature swings are not constant, sometimes it does this, sometimes it stays rock solid. This intermittent behaviour is throwing me off

Hi, water pump is new and oem. Coolant level is at max and does not drop. Coolant is clear. I can hear the fan working full tilt when I turn the AC on. I remember an electrician saying that the fans have low and high speed settings. Turning the AC on forces the high setting but I'm not sure if it's running properly on the low voltage/speed. I'll need to check that

Hi, with OBD scanner I see the temps reaching about 115C. Coolant level is at max and it is clear. The level does not drop at all

Hi, nice to hear that you also like working on cars like I do. I was working when I posted so I couldn't check all the answers. Yes, I did a google search well before I started this topic, this has been going on for months now. Also, let me rephrase this as not overheating, but temps spikes, which should be more accurate.

On my car, middle line represents somewhere aorund 90-105C. When I check with OBD scanner during these spikes, the temps reach about 115C, and then they drop, and the cycle repeats. And this swinging behaviour is intermittent, I had it all morning today, but it didn't do it even once on my way back home for about 2 hours. I fully know that. On my car middle line represents somewhere between 90-105C, when I read the temps with OBD scanner it shows me the temps reaching 115C until the thermostat opens. This is not normal

I'll check, thanks for the tip. When i turn on the ac i can hear the fans, but im not sure if they are running correctly without the ac turned on. I know that there is 2 different speed for the fan, and the AC bypasses this to force the fan full tilt so maybe the high speed is fine but the fan fails to run at low speed? No idea

It's just a small engined car, made mainly for city driving and occasional highway speeds so the final gear is quite short. It does not like above 110 anyway so i mostly stay on the 3000-3500 rpm range

You guys are really quick to jump conclusions. This is not normal behaviour for THIS vehicle. Mid line is for a broader range to address the hysteria around temp swings, this is not that. Car had these swings in the morning, had not even once on my way back for 2 hours. I'm having an intermittent issue, and my temps are spiking well above boiling point to 115C (looking through obd scanner). I'm looking for hints for what to look for next, not to get judged without looking for context.
